The Nuclear Option: Rod Rosenstein the Face of the Swamp
breitbart.com ^ | 6/13/18 | Charles Hurt

However bad you thought it was, it really is so much worse. However rotten and ungovernable you thought the federal swamp was, it really is so much worse. Indeed, it will take a hundred Donald Trumps to carve out all the cancer riddling this federal government. Behold, Rod Rosenstein, the very face of the swamp Leviathan.

Geeky and bespectacled, he is the cancer that even America’s Founders could not imagine when they crafted a set of checks and balances designed to temper even the most monstrous of human nature.

If Trump does not start cleaning out the infestation in the DOJ immediately after this report the country is heading for serious trouble. This secret police apparatus is undermining our democracy in insidious ways. Allowing the Deep State Cabal to get away with this subversion will only encourage them to do even more of the same. It must be stopped NOW.

The Founders didn't envision a gigantic, unelected, unaccountable federal bureaucracy with unbridled powers to spy on, threaten, and blackmail elected officials and hound them out of office if they attempted reform.

They probably would have said that the republic died sometime in the 1960s.

You know I’ve been thinking that for a long time. At some point a patriot is going to pick up a rifle.

While the little twit is briefing the President they should be cleaning out RR’s office. At the end of the briefing Trump should thank him for his service and let him know that his services are no longer needed.

DOJ is an executive agency under the control of the president. With the release of the Horowitz report (even if watered down) Trump will the justification and political cover to clean house. If not now, then when?

Ah yes... I mistakenly thought this was in reference to today’s IG report hence my question about RR’s involvement in the “matter’s” coverup/preclearance.

I too think he’s just asking for it when it comes to not allowing oversight. Isn’t that what Sally Yates did with the OIG? Although she was fired before that came to a head...

I suppose they need to subpoena the info first and traverse the fight before they can hang him on that...

No, Trump should simultaneously dismiss Rosenstein and Sessions in the most disrespectful way possible. This will send a message to the rest of the Swamp and other would be subversives working against the president. Resistance, obstruction and lying will be punished.

Not a hundred DJTs, but one honest AG could make a real dent in the swamp. Maybe in Trump’s second term. I assume it will be OK with the stooge media, Rats and RINOs for Trump to change AG in the second term.

I think it would benefit everyone if we attempted to view how FBI officials apparently view this entire confusing mess.

FBI officials view the investigation into Trump’s alleged Russia contacts during the 2016 election as a way to check the president’s power to fire them for doing the bidding of Democrats when Obama was in power. The apparent view of the FBI is that they should not be fired for doing political investigations on behalf of the previous presidential administration. The so-called Russia-gate scandal is not a coup to oust Trump as much as it is an attempt to protect the lifetime benefits and employment of top FBI officials. This is why Rosenstein and Mueller, both appointed by Republicans, are trying to find something on Trump to check his power to fire FBI agents who are asked to do political favors for politicians. But it is interesting that when Comey was given the opportunity to show his loyalty to Pres. Trump he self righteously refused, claiming Trump was obstructing justice. So is the FBI politicized only to benefit the Democrat Party but not Republican? The so-called Swamp is a network of self-protecting bureaucrats who believe they are impervious to being investigated themselves and are not accountable for actions to do political bidding. Bureaucrats view job security as their highest priority over anything else because their benefits and power are viewed as a personal property right that should not be taken away.

“Wtf is trump doing about it”

Trump needs to order rosenrat to fulfill the congressional subpoenas immediately.

I think Trump must be waiting for the opportune time to do this. The Left can’t make any reasonable argument against this. The national security argument from DOJ is always a bogus CYA excuse.

Which begs the question why didn’t Trump fire him for it? It seems like a great opportunity.

I’ve been saying since Mueller was appointed (by Rosenstein) that Rosenstein should be fired. I can only hope that Trump sees him for what he is and has him under a microscope. At least, under surveillance.

Trump should show him a tape of the Apprentice where he says “You’re fired.”
