Fox News host says Kim Jong Un 'got it all' from Trump for virtually nothing in return

Fox News host Shep Smith on Tuesday slammed President Donald Trump for how he conducted himself at a historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, accusing him of giving Kim everything he wanted while receiving virtually nothing in return.

“America demanded complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization. … There’s no guarantee of that, not even words to that effect,” Smith said of the agreement signed between Trump and Kim, which says North Korea will work toward denuclearization but doesn’t offer specific details on how this will occur.

The Fox News host decried Trump for offering his signature to an agreement that only offered “generalities.”

Smith also ripped into Trump for agreeing to halt joint military exercises between the US and South Korea on the Korean Peninsula.

“[Kim] wanted the photos, the seat at the table, he wanted the legitimacy that came with the event, the handshake with America’s president,” Smith said. “And he wanted those military exercises with the Americans and the South Koreans that happen every year to stop.”

“Kim Jong Un got it all, for actually doing nothing,” Smith added.

Shep is NOT impressed by Trump's summit performance

At a press conference following the summit, Trump described Kim as a “talented man” who loves his country and people.

Smith seemed appalled by the way Trump complimented Kim, describing him as a leader “who has committed crimes against humanity” ruling over the most “entrenched land in all the world.”

The Fox News host reminded the audience the UN has characterized Kim as the leader of one of the most brutal and repressive regimes in “modern history.”

Hannity is a political analyst and commentator and does not pretend to be anything else. Hannity is not a newsman but is a hell of an investigative reporter with a political bias that he does not hide.

I have extreme objection to Shep Smith. His program is supposed to be news. He injects his extreme political bias into what is supposed to be news but it becomes propaganda instead. He should be fired.

I would have zero problems with Shep Smith conducting a program like Hannity does. I despise Sheps program pretending to be a news program when it is actually a political program of bias. Shepard Smith is not a news program. It is a politically biased program pretending to be the news. Shep is a disgrace to unbiased reporting of the news. Hannity is not a news reporter but an opinionater and does not pretend to be anything else. Shep is an opiniionator pretending to be unbiased news.

Kim did not “get it all”. But he got a lot in the form of recognition, ending military exercises, Trump adopting Kim’s position on those exercises, and Trump’s glowing praise. And what exactly did he give in return?

3 hostages?

... letting Kim be seen as an equal...
***************************************
That will help Kim back home to persuade his Generals that they are no longer considered inferior and that they should sign on to becoming a participating country of the world economic community.

Best for the people of DPRK and less threat of NoKo being destroyed. Kim was educated in Swiss schools and better understands world views than others in his country who have been fed Communist BS all of their lives.

In addition to Shep, I also don’t watch Chris Wallace, Bret Baer or Bill Hemmer, as they are all snarky and obviously lean to the left.

I look at it that we got a chance to turn the most dangerous Nation on the planet into a Nation focused on trade and economic growth.

North Korea is Kim, and Kim is focused on himself. He could care less about his people. He's want's power and recognition and the influence that nuclear weapons give him. He will not give any of that up voluntarily.

The exercise was also scheduled from 1994 to 1996 but cancelled during this time period as part of diplomatic efforts to encourage the Government of North Korea to disable the North Korean nuclear weapons program.

Yeah how'd that work out for us?

The proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

Given their past performance one would have thought we'd see some good performance on their part before rewarding them.

“The exact wording was, “Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.” I don’t see a specific agreement to give up his nukes in that.”

Could it be that “complete denuclearization” means “complete denuclearization”? What kind of language could you substitute for complete denuclearization that is more convincing?

“At what point do you decide he’s reneged?”

When he refuses to carry through, refuses verification.

It is not difficult at all.

This morning there was complaints because the signed documents did not contain a complete package going forward. But an agreement has to be made first. Does anyone believe the Secretary of State is conversant enough with nuclear science that he can draw up verification procedures? He will hand that off to the experts in that field.

Trump is engaged in PR right now. He can’t charge in and treat Kim with total disrespect and provoke a coup.
