China’s activities in the South China Sea have proven to be one of the most contentious geopolitical issues of the Trump Presidency. Today, following a successful summit in Singapore between President Trump and North Korean leader Chairman Kim Jong Un, new data released by Israeli Private Intelligence Firm ImageSat shows that China has removed anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles from Woody Island, in the South China Sea.

“Redeployed? I just read your article. Looks like a showdown is coming.”

Article says they may have been temporarily removed for routine maintenance and repair.

“We better not miss the implications.”

Most of us here won’t. Trump won’t. Actually, most high school students wouldn’t. However, the moronic law school graduates who overpopulate political office are probably not bright enough to understand. Enough of these idiots.

Trump is turning the screws on China on trade, which is why we’re seeing them jump thru hoops and putting the hammer on North Korea themselves. China knows their gravy train (trade imbalance) is over with Trump and they’re doing everything possible to salvage what they can. Amazing what a true leader can achieve...the sleeping giant has awoken.

To me the implication is China is giving the Thumbs Up to the talks, if it is true.

I would be refreshing if candidates knew something about the Cole War and global dynamics, before being hired into office.

There was a question of why China was moving forces to the Korean border. Were they there to keep North Koreans from moving across the border into China, or was it something else.

We now know it was something else. China was ready to go to war with the U. S. if we took military action against Kim.

Removing those missiles tipped their hand.

Those certainly weren’t to be directed at Kim.

From the story: "Satellite imagery and new analysis from Israeli intelligence firm ImageSat International (ISI), dated June 3, suggested the Chinese surface-to-air missile systems on Woody Island, in the Paracel Islands, may have been removed or relocated, The South China Morning Post reported."

From the South China Morning Post yesterday: China puts missiles back on contested South China Sea island as United States pushes allies for bigger military presence in waters

Trump has realized and is taking advantage of the fact that America holds ALL the cards. Natural resources? We got them. Military? We got them. The ONLY thing holding us back has been leftist policies that have deliberately hurt and weakened our country and our influence on the world.

“It would be refreshing if candidates knew something about the Cold War and global dynamics, before being hired into office.”

I agree, but the reality is that most of those born after 1975 don't know or appreciate the gravity of the Cold War, and that the world was at the brink more times than we really know because of it. Part of the reason that don't know is because the left has worked diligently to keep it that way.

It's not by accident that people use references to Hitler and Nazis to denigrate their opposition, but seldom if ever use the name Stalin or the term Communist in this manner. Both Hitler and Stalin were sociopathic dictators responsible for an unimaginable number of deaths and cruelty. But we only hear about Hitler. Any objective unbiased open-minded educational system would teach about both, and their negative impacts on the world, similarly. But they don't. Teaching ‘selective history’ is not much different, if at all, from indoctrination.

I agree, and I’d toss in a few more names with those.

And I’d remind the kids Communism/Socialism, all you need to know about those two ideologies.

We’re far more Socialist than I like.

“There was a question of why China was moving forces to the Korean border.”

One theory is that China was threatening the North Korean regime, to keep them on the Chinese plantation - that North Korea has been a hostage of China since the Korean War.

“Trump is turning the screws on China on trade, which is why we’re seeing them jump thru hoops”

Trade with the US is essential to China. That lever may have forced China to both withdraw its missiles, and release its North Korean prisoner.

If that theory is what is actually driving events, then North Korea will move quickly to comply with denuclearization, to maintain the US protection from China, until a formal Peace Treaty is approved through the Senate, which could formalize its protection.

Tomorrow Seoul, then on to Beijing to continue to build the team to achieve the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. #singaporesummit @StateDept

Pompeo was most excellent choice. On his way to China.
