Korea has it, or can get it.

LCD prices going up... 3..2..1.

I was always surprised at how W. Germany somehow footed the immense bill for integrating with E. Germany.

I think most former West Germans regret reunification now.

We could save trillions by ending the war on poverty.

50 years later all we have to show for it are broken homes and economic refugees from third world nations.

Poverty will never go away when we keep importing tens of millions of poor people.

I was in West Germany in 1990 when full reunification was in the planning stages. One of the West’s big telecom execs said that integrating the phones between east and west was going to be like merging an autobahn onto a one lane dirt road.

Very similar undertaking albeit that the chasm between North and South Korea are even greater.

One of my business colleagues (from Germany) summed it up thus "It is amazing how much creative and productive energy is unleashed when millions of people find themselves working real jobs rather than spying on their neighbors and engaging in bureaucratic make-work projects."

Remember, it was Reagan himself who predicted that when the Berlin Wall finally came down, the news would be greeted on the left with headlines such as

"THOUSANDS OF BORDER GUARDS NOW UNEMPLOYED."

With the EU, conceivably if East and West Germany still existed, there wouldn’t be too much difference, both would have adopted the Euro, for example.
