A progressive House candidate in Colorado has released a campaign ad in which he gets pepper sprayed in the face as part of his call to combat violence in schools.
In the ad, posted last week, Levi Tillemann criticizes President Trumps plan to arm teachers and school officials with firearms as a way to combat potential school shooters.
Im calling on Congress to stop talking past each other and try something new, Tilleman says in the ad. Empower schools and teachers with non-lethal self-defense tools, like this can of pepper spray.

It helps make the tears flow, just like after losing another election.
Liberals have no concept of reality.
Pepper spray to stop a shooter?
You only get to make some dumb decisions once.
Well, he’s at least inching up on the idea of arming schools. In an age where cinnamon Tic-Tacs are contraband in school, the pepper-spray idea is revolutionary. ANYTHING that students and teachers can fight back with in the case of a loon’s attack, is far better than NOTHING.
It has to be looked at relatively. Would you want half a glass, or none. Of course it’s better that schools be armed with guns. But even the pepper spray is going to get them used to the idea that yes, they could fight back, something that didn’t even happen in fish-in-a-barrel Sandy Hook.
They would be far better off with a couple of flash-bang grenades in every classroom. Who is going to get close enough to pepper spray the vermin? “Ok, kids. I need a volunteer to sneak up on the shooter and spray him in the face.”
Taser has better range and effect.
One first has to get the idea that one can fight back at all, before one will fight back. Hurling books, desks, overhead projectors, anything heavy that will distract the shooter, has been suggested. I doubt such a melee would be purely pepper spray. When it’s do and maybe die, or don’t do and surely die, do wins for those who have thought it out in advance.
This is where a deal negotiator like Donald Trump can start. OK, we want to have pepper spray. This means to fight back instead of standing paralyzed like a lump on a log. Now where else can we go from here. Tasers are an obvious addition. At the end of the day, Donald Trump would have at least the principal having a gun. In Donald Trump America, misbehaving student does not go to principal. Principal goes to him.
If only we made the right law for a criminal to follow, they would do it. Everyone knows that. It is common sense.
Did they make an ad for the windy days?
Takes a lot of courage. To make oneself patently risible to gratify one’s thirst for power.
I've read that in many parts of the country one in five school staff are willing to train and defend their schools. Limiting it to teachers and staff who have already qualified for CCW is realistic and the intensive training and screening process will ensure the safety of the students. Don't take a knife to a gunfight.
Over one hundred schools in Texas, predominantly rural school districts, already have CCW qualified teachers and staff who are packin' heat. Colorado and Indiana already have programs in the early stages of doing the same.
Israel already has secured their schools using a little different approach, limiting entry to the schools and having armed guards at those entrances screening students. Whatever path taken, give the folks who are willing and able to realistically engage any threat and protect the children.
Better solution — hold clueless, permissive Columbine-style parents responsible when they knew, or should have known, what their monsters were like and did nothing.
Someone needs to have him demonstrate with a gunman at 50 feet and see how effective the pepper spray is - maybe a graphic video would be instructive.
Tasers are also short range weapons. A gremlin with a rifle needs a good guy with a rifle.
Dont bring a knife to a gun fight. ( but keep one handy just in case )
Bring a can of pepper spray to a gunfight!
Liberal ‘logic’
Sure! You simply walk up to within several feet of the crazed gunman, point and spray! No problem!
Uh. Yeah. So, Levi...tell us...how's your grouping at 50 yards with that pepper spray?
His ideas won’t go too far. The way the Dems see it, it’s a SLIPPERY SLOPE:
1) Allow non-lethal weapons
2) Allow stronger, potentially disfiguring, non-lethal weapons
3) Allow firearms in classrooms
4) End school shootings
5) End progress on gun confiscation
I think they’ll cut off these ideas...they don’t want that ending, no matter what.
