President Donald Trump met Kim Jong-un at the summit in Singapore on Tuesday.
The two leaders met and shook hands at the island resort Capella Singapore and exchanged a few words with their interpreters before entering the hotel for their one-on-one conversation.
I feel really great, Trump said, adding that he had no doubt that the two leaders would have a great relationship.

Why is CNN showing a MAGA hat on a pincushion? :-P
All same same!
What will Cindy Sheehan and the North Korean antiwar movement do now that their leader has ditched them for Trump?
Haha
The North Koreans got a photo op...they got legitimized by the POTUS. All without giving up their nuclear program.
They didn’t come to Singapore because they became Jeffersonian democrats. They came because they are under tremendous American pressure.
Too soon too tell if NK will agree to denuclearize. At best as I said before, we are at the beginning of a long process.

I agree—this will take time but this looks like a good beginning.

This is pretty big...just heard on Ingram Show on Fox that the North Korean State media has announced to the people of NK that Kim is in Singapore negotiating with President Trump on denuclearization. Now it makes more sense that he axed the top 3 military guys a few weeks ago and we probably can say with good faith that China dropped the hammer on Kim.
Its all coming together!
Exactly, but were it Obama they would say “Obama shows love and compassion goes a long way”
The only way I think denuclearization will happen is if America offers to extend its nuclear umbrella over NK.
They will want American protection in exchange for such a concession and South Korea will probably agree to it.
So it wouldn’t surprise me if something like that arrangement is a part of a deal.

Who said that?
(Not doubting it-—just curious.)

Why not?.
A quid pro quo is often part of a good deal.

I don’t see how the U.S. would do such a thing as a standalone measure. A more likely scenario would be a gradual move toward reunification of the two Koreas.
A United Korea would still seek American protection.
The break from Russia and China is a historic move by North Korea.
Koreans are a proud people and the division of their country was imposed upon them by outside powers.
A United Korea would have 75 million people and be a major Asian power on a part with Japan.
“President Donalt J Trump will name Dennis Rodman as the First Ambassador to North Korea.”
I think that’s a possibility. If anyone has the chutzpah to do it, it’s DJT!
Bumping for later. Thanks!
Disguising elevator shoes, perhaps?
“United Korea would have 75 million people and be a major Asian power on a part with Japan.”
I had to double-check those figures. I had no idea Korea was that big!

As far as I know, Sheehan is pretty much out of the “movement” picture as a leader. She was cracking up over the past few years and a lot of the hardcore Left didn’t want her craziness to attach to their real identities.
Much of the No. Korean antiwar movement among the hardcore parties will not change their stripes. Haven’t seen anything from them in a long time though the WWP and RCP show up at other peoples’ demonstrations.
Do have to wonder what the old Communist Workers Party (CWP), now operating under another name, and a few splinter Maoist groups, are going to do if there is any agreement over No. Korea.
Time will tell.
Re the photo of Trump with his arm on Kim’s shoulder.
What “The Donald” is really saying is “And here is our next contestant on the new version of “The Apprentice”, Mr. Kim from Pyongyang, No. Korea. He’s looking for a job change which will have a longer life expectancy than the one he now has as a “community organizer”.
