Common sense. How did this "domestic abuse" crap ever become grounds for political asylum?

Asylum was meant for dissidents and political prisoners and others whose lives were threatened by an evil regime, not people who have made bad life choices.

Loophole I think. Beat the old lady up, she gets asylum. Then under chain migration, the old man and kiddies get to come in for free.
