I just spent a few days in Sentosa on my recent trip. Extremely nice resorts but very hot and humid (on the Equator). Like Orlando in mid-July...all year round. :)

>>Trump is indefatigable

This is so amazing, that a 71 year old man who routinely gets very few hours of sleep, is able to even function, let alone run circles around the young’uns. I see this as one of many clear gifts from God, given to perfectly outfit our beloved warrior!

You can size down your photos then they don’t take up so much of FR bandwith. Thanks..

Actually, FR is not affected by the size of the photo at all (unless, of course, the image is actually located on Free Republic's web server, which is highly unlikely).

When a web page loads; it is the browser, at that moment, that gets the image from the source web server (via the "src" attribute of the HTML "img" tag) and inserts it into your web page.

The FR web server passes instructions to your browser; these contain HTML tags, one of which is an "img" tag mentioned above. Your browser downloads these instructions from Free Republic, not the image itself. The "src" attribute in the "img" tag tells your browser where the image is located. Then, your browser uses the information contained in that "src" attribute to request a download of the photo from the host where the image is located (if the image is gone or the address wasn't typed in correctly, you get a busted link and depending on your browser, you can get a red "X").

It's *your* ISP (and secondarily, your computer) which is affected by the bandwidth. Free Republic's web server doesn't care; it's only giving out information on where the image (no matter how BIG you want to make it - via the "size" attribute) can be found.

So regardless of whether you make the image big or small, pretty much the only things that are going to be affected by using a given graphic are:

Oh, I might add as a P.S.: making an image GINORMOUS can piss off others on a given thread, because it will make other posts hard to read. It'll wind up pushing everything over to the right.

Plans for departures update:

There will be a N. Korean plane departing Singapore at 2pm on Tuesday, there is ‘another plane’ set to leave Wednesday morning. ..It isn’t clear which plane Kim Jong Un might take.

President Donald Trump will leave Singapore tomorrow at 8pm
According to a White House statement, the discussion between the United States and North Korea have “moved more quickly than expected”.

The statement added that President Donald Trump will have a press briefing after the summit and leave for the United States at 8pm.

Sec State Pompeo brief to press: "Complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearisation is the ONLY outcome that US will accept. He adds that Washington is prepared to provide North Korea security assurances "fundamentally different from before" to achieve denuclearisation."

((US front-loading of security guarantees for North Korea probably designed to induce North Korea's front-loading of actions sufficient to show seriousness of purpose/commitment on denuclearization.))

"North Korean leader Kim Un is a knowledgeable and well-mannered negotiator who wants his country to be regarded as a serious dialogue partner"...... a high-ranking official from S.Korea's presidential office said on Monday (June 11) at an event in Singapore.

Kim Jong Un a "confident young leader" who "wants to go onto a new path": .......Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is a "confident young leader" who is "prepared to deal". ... he added that Kim.. "has an intention to do something, and that's why he's meeting Donald Trump".

North Korean state media just reported yesterday that their leader Kim Jong Un has gone to Singapore to meet Trump for the first time. June 11, 2018

Because of the past they will likely believe this indicates to them some sanctions will be lifted. The report does include 'denuclearization'...

With the tight security cordon around the Capella at Sentosa, only the peacocks are allowed to stroll past guards with casual impunity. This is a normal occurrence..

Education Minister Ong Ye Kung posted a selfie with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Vivian Balakrishnan at Gardens by the Bay......Mr Kim is expected to also visit the MBS SkyPark or the nearby Merlion Park.

(Interesting side-note:... Kim seems relaxed enough that he's definately let his hair down)

Remember that images are not hosted on Free Republic. They are "hot-linked" from their source and have nothing to do whatsoever with FR bandwidth. That's why we see so many older threads where the images no longer load. That's because the source of the image either deleted the image or moved it somewhere else.

So this is purely a user issue. FR users with a poor bandwidth connection will have trouble with the larger image files and can take steps accordingly to restrict images as need be by adjusting their browser settings.

That said, it can be distracting to all FR users when images are not properly sized in their links. I always add a width parameter to my links (which override the settings in the source file.) My default size is a width of "500" as that tends to fit nicely into most threads. For thumbnails, try a width of around "200".

If this had been the Fraud’s meeting with Rocket Man, Big Media would have already been exhorting us to celebrate on the town with the newly renamed “Singapore Summit” cocktail.

I say do the same:

Combine gin, cherry-flavored brandy, triple sec, Benedictine, pineapple juice, lime juice, and grenadine in a cocktail shaker. Add 1 cup ice, cover and shake until chilled. Strain into the prepared Collins glass. Garnish with a corn husk and sparkler.

“You can size down your photos then they don’t take up so much of FR bandwidth.”

Regardless of size, photos take up zero FR bandwidth because FR does not host photos ... all photos appearing on FR are hosted elsewhere and all the bandwidth to download them comes from the photo hosts ...

Steve Miller Band was a great band from the seventies. Miller was an awesome musician and lyricist. You made a what? I think someone else invented the coat hanger way before you.
