San Mateo County Supervisor David Canepa today called for a ban on gun shows at the Cow Palace in Daly City as a two-day gun show got underway at the venue.
Crossroads of the West, a Utah-based company, is holding a gun show at the Cow Palace Saturday and Sunday. The show is taking place just four days after county supervisors voted unanimously in support of proposed state legislation that would ban gun shows at the Cow Palace.
"The state should not profit from the sales of guns," Canepa said in a statement. "For 15 years this board has urged the state to ban gun shows at the Cow Palace to no avail."
Canepa said he stands with Sen. Scott Wiener and Assemblyman Phil Ting, who introduced Senate Bill 221 in May. Under the bill, sales of guns and ammunition would be banned at the Cow Palace with an exemption for gun buyback programs organized by law enforcement.
Canepa is available to the media Saturday and Sunday at the Cow Palace, 2600 Geneva Ave., to talk on county legislation passed. Canepa can be reached on his cell phone at (415) 513-9410.

[[”The state should not profit from the sales of guns,”]]
Why is that-
Are guns illegal and unconstitutional?
I see the name "Scott Wiener" a lot in these types of articles about crazy California stuff. He's the guy behind the new California law making knowingly lying to someone and giving them a lifetime affliction of HIV be no longer a felony, but at the same time was behind another law making calling someone by the wrong pronouns a jailable offense. He seems to be a real piece of work too, judging by the photos of him campaigning against the recent successful recall of Josh Newman.
The state shouldn't PROFIT from the sale of anything. PROFIT is such an interesting word to use in the context of GOVERNMENT.

The implosion of the Left continues..
Who cares what you think, Canepa?
How many are alive today becuz of guns in the hands of citizens exercising their constitutional rights?
How many are dead becuz of holier than thous like this idiot and his cohorts on lunacy?
Common sense is not a factor with nitwits
It’s hard to believe that not that long ago California was a shooters paradise.
I am proud to say that I bought my very first gun at the Cow Palace, lo these many years ago.
It was and is a Walther P99 in .40 cal, Olive Drab, back when a color other than black was a big deal.
The Olive Drab version cost $40 more that the regular version!
To this day it is the primary home defense weapon I count on to protect my family.
Thanks Cow Palace!
