LANSING, Mich. (WZZM) - Recent polling done by a consultant favoring Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sandy Pensler still shows more than a third of all Republican primary voters are undecided who they want to go on to face Democrat Sen. Debbie Stabenow in the November election.
Pensler, a businessman from Grosse Pointe, and John James, a former Army captain and West Point graduate who lives in Farmington Hills are the only two candidates on the August 7, 2018 ballot.
... In recent days, Pensler has started airing an attack advertisement on television stations across the state. A narrator in the ad says: "John James is no conservative" and "James is a phony conservative".
James responded in a statement to us written by his campaign manager Tori Sachs: "The only thing this ad reveals is that despite outspending John 15-1 on TV, Pensler is running scared and terrified of the grassroots conservative movement that is coalescing around John. Pensler clearly believes his only path to victory is to distort Johns record. No one is going to fall for it."
...
James is an Iraq War combat veteran and businessman. He is running as a "pro-life, pro-Second Amendment, pro-business conservative who has demonstrated energetic leadership"
The two will debate on public TV on July 6th.

Sandy Pensler is a creepy guy.
I’m voting for John James.
“Im voting for John James.”
I’m certainly leaning that way. Definitely don’t like Pensler.
Pensler is a NeverTrump, RINO weasel. He’s in the mold of a Bush Republican. John James all the way.
I say go for the black guy. We need more of them plus he looks like the real deal.
Maybe to little support for Trump?
I’ll go for the conservative, combat veteran, West Point graduate.
John James is the one!! Pensler is a lying worthless snake.
He will be at a Take Back Michigan rally on Tuesday the 12th of June, with Rob O'Neill if any of you are interested.
Wish I was closer....
John James is the only chance we have to dump Stabenow and is every bit as authentic, honest, hardworking, and filled with integrity as you can imagine. So I am putting together a Michigan ping list and hoping to help his campaign here.
If you go and meet him I think you will come away as impressed as we were. 30 conservative Mi legistators are endorsing him.
I am working on this still.....thank you for all you are doing. John is incredible. We loved him.
Glad Im not the only one who feels that way. Those ads he runs implying Trumps support annoy me. James is my choice.
Pensler has given money to pro-choice candidates in other states.
John is the only candidate with a national right to life endorsement.
Then you folks had better reconsider your thoughts about him after viewing his political contribution record. He was my choice until I just looked up the following website. I now have serious reservations about this guy despite his being a veteran..........
John James contribution record
With the exception of a contribution to Republican Spencer Abraham, all of his contributions have gone to Democrats and that includes a $1,000 contribution to Carl Levin in 2002......
See my last post
Sandy talks like a girl.
Someone should ask John about his contributions if true.
I’m going to dig in. Thanks for the heads up.
In your link it’s hard to tell what John James they are referencing. There appear to be several.
Start by the contributor's address. In this case James' address is in Farmington Hills..and another Detroit location
Then look for occupation. In this case, there are the following:
1. James Group International
2. O.J.Transport (which may have been owned by his father) but was ultimately sold.
3. The O.J. Group
Hopefully you get the idea.........
You sure it was the same John James? Check this out:

Definitely a different John James. The Senate candidate is much younger and is not a native of Mississippi.
