Another Christian has lost his livelihood for good-faith wrongspeak. This time it was for articulating extremely basic Christian truth that it’s sinful to celebrate sexual immorality. Here’s BuzzFeed with the story:
A high-ranking CrossFit employee was fired after tweeting his support for a CrossFit gym’s cancellation of a Pride event, citing his belief that celebrating LGBT pride is a “sin.”
Russell Berger was the mega-successful fitness company’s chief knowledge officer, often de facto spokesperson, and a co-author of the Russells, a blog about scientific misconduct that he maintained with colleague Russell Greene.
But Berger got into hot water Wednesday afternoon when he tweeted about a CrossFit gym in Indianapolis, Indiana, where owners canceled a workout in honor of Pride Month. Many of the coaches and employees quit in protest, according to WTTV TV in Indianapolis. On Wednesday, the gym posted notices that it was shutting down.
So, for those keeping score, that’s a job lost and a gym closed because it’s just intolerable that a Christian either publicly express his moral point of view or that other Christians refuse to host events they find objectionable.
In reading comments and commentary about this latest turn in the culture wars, I’m struck by the extent to which Berger’s views are cast as pure, indefensible bigotry — and that it’s entirely acceptable to not just label his Christian beliefs false but also to believe that they’re actually malicious.
But isn’t that a bigoted view? What qualifies an external critic to define the veracity of a man’s faith or the purity of the thoughts in his heart? There seems to be a mistaken belief by some that sexual orientation is absolutely core to a person’s identity whereas religion is something else entirely

Accusations of bigotry, racism, whatever are so dramatized and overplayed that they have become ridiculous. There is nothing wrong, for whatever reason, to say homosexuality is wrong, not to be celebrated, protected, or called sick and perverted. There is nothing wrong with saying Islam is evil. There is nothing wrong with saying illegal alien. It is not racist to demand government deport illegal aliens, to not give special rights to homosexuals, to single out people for first-in-line deportation because of the country they are from.
Chick-Fil-A, Mardell, Interstate Batteries, In-N-Out Burgers, Zondervan, Hobby Lobby or similar should hire him.
Exactly. Remove the religious element altogether and homosexuality is still an abomination under “natural law” alone. Biologically it makes no sense. Physically it makes no sense. It is, by definition, abnormal — an aberration that many people find naturally repugnant. No one has to be taught to be nauseated by the sight of two homos tongue-wrestling, anymore than anyone has to be taught to cringe at the smell of feces. The repulsion is innate.
The Left has used racism and bigotry as the all-purpose weapon to shut down debate and scare everyone off, after it has spent decades training people, like Pavlov’s dogs, to melt with guilt at the mere mention of the concepts and to salivate at the opportunity to prove they are not guilty.

Anybody who has a brain and is a friend of humanity and the neighbor next door should recognize the unhealthiness of homosexuality to state, to society, and the friend. The most hardened of atheists should be able to grasp this. The evidence is both self-evident and documented in the scientific literature.
Politically correct posturing is self delusion. Those who subject themselves relinquish their freedom and are easy to control. A society that makes such posturing as a prerequisite to employment or admission to educational institutions becomes devoid of social justice. In a perfect world this man would not only be reinstated in his job but the CEO who fired him should be hounded and never be allowed to have any power over others.
The definition of the words “bigot”, “bigotry”, “bigoted”, etc. has been changed several times by the liberal culture-meisters!!!! These words are therefore essentially MEANINGLESS!!!!
Homosexuality is sinful!!!! So is celebration of LGBT “pride”, and the takeover of a whole month for such celebrations.
Pushing LGBT “pride” events on countries such as Serbia and Latvia that want NO PART of them (as the obama/clinton State Department has done) is evil in the extreme!!!! I hope that the Trump State Department has ceased and desisted from such tyrannical oppression!!!!
What needs to happen is a wrongful termination due to religious beliefs law suit needs to be slapped on the company.

Even if you do not believe it, homosexuality is still a sin. Always was and always is. Truth is truth even if you believe otherwise.

Whether or not an abnormality is tolerated by a society depends on whether that abnormality is generally perceived as harmful.
So arsonists who take great pleasure out of setting fires are not tolerated by societies, even if they are “born that way”. But someone born with abnormally poor vision is fully accepted by society.
Whether homosexuality is harmful to society is not quite as self evident. It may take decades for the effects to show up. The fact that the Bible treats it as a sin probably means that in the long run it’s not a good thing.
Arguments are made that one reason the Roman empire fell was because of it’s decadent debauchery.
Time will tell, but I think that societies with traditional sexual mores and family structures will fare better in the long run and may end up dominating those that choose otherwise

It did not take long after the beginning of normalization of homosexuality in the late 1960s and early 1970s for an AIDS epidemic to occur, killing hundreds of thousands. The homosexual movement now promotes genital mutilation AKA transgenderism. Meanwhile, fertility in the U.S. has been falling. The harmful effects are showing up quickly!

True but you hardly hear about AIDS deaths anymore due to education and medicine - death rates have plummeted and homosexuality has been normalized beyond any 60’s homosexual wildest dream.
As it turns out one of the biggest driver of changes in traditional morality is science and technology.
Traditional sexual morality was upended by the pill and other birth controls. Transgenderism is also being abetted by medicine with hormones and surgical advances. And the combination of the sexual revolution, prosperity and women’s liberation ended up giving us abortion on demand for convenience.
Seems like we’re rushing head first into Aldous Huxley Brave New World. With the fall in birth rates, the state may end up taking over baby production, and artificially produce just the right amount of people of the right genetic makeup to serve society as it sees fit. Sex and reproduction will be forever decoupled. Families, relatives will cease to exist.
Amazing that Huxley foresaw this almost a century ago. Sadly he may yet be proven right - who or what is it going to stop it? Wouldn’t it be the irony of ironies that it will be Islam since Christianity has given up the fight?
