Democrats' IT scandal set to explode with possible plea deal

The curious case of Imran Awan, which sounds like an international spy thriller, is entering its third act. Awan was a congressional IT aide to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., and he was finally fired just after he was arrested trying to fly to Pakistan last summer.

Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, were charged last summer with bank fraud. They now appear poised to strike a plea deal with the Department of Justice. A plea agreement hearing is set for July 3 before U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan in Washington, Fox News reported Wednesday.

Right.

The FBI and Congress want this to go away.

Minimal charges and sentencing, real blame assigned to already disgraced Robert Wexler who first hired them, and MAYBE some inconsequential ‘censures’ or just reprimands for DWS and Beccara.

Espionage and other involvement by Congressmen will be covered up.

If this has any legs whatsoever, the Rich-Foster model will go into action.

CIRCA 2017--Paki IT Aide Was Still on DWS's Payroll After Stealing Equipment
Townhall ^ | 07/27/17 | Cortney O'Brien
FR Posted by pgkdan

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is at the center of a scandal in Washington after it was discovered her IT aide was stealing equipment. Imran Awan was accused of “serious, potentially illegal, violations on the House IT network.” For instance, he reportedly charged the House double the amount required for IT equipment and may have exposed House information online.

Awan was also charged with multiple counts of bank fraud after allegedly engaging in "a scheme to defraud a Congressional Federal Credit Union," according to Fox News. He was caught at Virginia's Dulles International Airport trying to flee the country to Pakistan.

Awan’s crimes were discovered back in February and he had been banned from using the House computer network. Every congressional Democrat whom he worked for fired him after learning of the report. Everyone that is, except Wasserman Schultz, who did not let him go until this week. It was unclear which tasks he was still trusted with.

The Weston Democrat has not explained in detail why she continued to employ Awan until Tuesday when she fired him — after he was arrested on bank-fraud charges at Dulles International Airport in Virginia attempting to board a flight to Pakistan. And she has not elaborated on what work Awan did for her after he lost access to the House computer network.

In a statement, Wasserman Schultz spokesman David Damron defensively said that her team had been given no evidence to suggest Awan had broken a law. As such, she was under the impression he had been the victim of religious profiling. "Upon learning of his arrest," however, Awan was promptly terminated.

"After details of the investigation were reviewed with us, my office was provided no evidence to indicate that laws had been broken, which over time, raised troubling concerns about due process, fair treatment, and potential ethical and religious profiling. Upon learning of his arrest, he was terminated."

This is all very dramatic news. Of course, you didn’t hear about it in the mainstream media. Unless you happened to be watching the 37 seconds of coverage CBS dedicated to it.

Awan pleaded not guilty to bank fraud charges. He has been released under a high-intensity supervision program.

So far, no one has explained the incompetence of the Congressional Federal Credit Union and how easily Imran fraudulently got a $165,000 federal loan on a rental property by falsifying apps claiming it as his "permanent residence."

Pamela Geller reported: Imran Awan, Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s top IT aide was arrested Monday attempting to board a flight to Pakistan after wiring $283,000 from the Congressional Federal Credit Union to that country.

TALKING POINTS: taxpayers demand a full accounting of the Congressional Federal Credit Union's activities conducting business w/ tax dollars.

<><> do those activities constitute financial fraud?

<><> did the Congressional Federal Credit Union aid and abet Capitol Hill security breaches that endangered the safety and security of Americans?

<><> did Florida Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz sign off on her aide, Imran's, credit union transactions?

<><> Is the Congressional Federal Credit Union a way for Senators and Reps to launder money, and/or accept bribes via deposits?

The scam Imran Awan pulled at the Congressional Federal Credit Union
for which he is under indictment has the potential to open a can of worms.

<><> there is a paper trial----Imran's loans should be well-documented.

<><> One document to be examined is the appraisal, particularly the FORM NUMBER of the appraisal.

<><>A home appraisal would be on one form, while an income property would be on another.

<><> Falsifications here starts to unravel the story.

<><>The appraiser is obligated to archive the file for five years. Many appraiser are archived on the cloud with national data services.

<><>The Awans apparently had a number of facilitators. Is there any commonality in the service providers associated with the multiple property purchases that are reportedly associated with the Awan clan? Real estate agent, title company, escrow, closing attorney, appraiser, home inspector, etc. So many of these folks have been on-site and seen something, IMHO.

<><> important to know that appraisers are regulated at the state-level.

=================================

BACKSTORY Capitol Police revoked the Awans’ access to the congressional IT system in February 2017 after a major data breach was detected. Their access had allowed them to read emails and files of dozens of members, including many serving on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

House Democrats have been nonchalant about the allegations, with some saying it was just a misunderstanding or the Capitol Police who framed the Awans due to Islamophobia.

But official documents, court records and multiple interviews suggest the Awan crew may have engaged in tax fraud, extortion, bankruptcy fraud and insurance fraud and the money could have been funneled overseas.

One Democrat IT aide, Abid Awan, has hired high-profile attorney James Bacon who specializes in money laundering litigation.

The Awans share modest homes, drive unremarkable cars and report little in the way of assets on congressional disclosures. The family owns significant amounts of Virginia rental properties, which are heavily financed, some with second mortgages. In recent weeks, Imran has attempted to buy gold bars---a ruse to secrete wealth out of the US.

It’s unclear where the Awan rental income goes because the Awans insist tenants pay in odd ways.

The Daily Caller News foundation interviewed multiple current and former tenants who said Imran insisted rent be paid in untraceable ways. Many of those TheDCNF interviewed about the Awans asked not to be identified for fear of suffering retaliation by the family, particularly renters to whose homes Imran has keys.

Democrat IT Aide, Imran Awan, Had Access to ‘All the
Communication of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’

Breitbart.com ^ | 26 Jul 2017 | IAN MASON
FR Posted by SSS Two

Rep. Steve King (R-IA) talked about the ever-worsening scandal surrounding Imran Awan and his ex-employer Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz on Breitbart New’s Whatever it Takes with Curt Schilling Wednesday.

The Pakistan-born longtime congressional Democratic IT consultant was arrested by federal authorities as he tried to flee the country Tuesday, sending hundreds of thousands of dollars ahead of himself to Pakistan.

Rep. King, a staunch conservative and ally of populist nationalism, stressed that the facts are anything but clear at this stage. The surface narrative itself was suspicious enough for King even before getting into the extensive criminal allegations against Awan and his brothers. The trio is reported to have been paid over $4 million over the last last eight years for providing IT services for Wasserman Schultz and up to 24 other Democratic congressman. Imran Awan himself was reportedly kept on as a “part-time” employee at a $165,000 salary.

“If the reports are right, if these three individuals…drew down, over this period of time, $4 million and Debbie Wasserman Schultz had a part-time employee who’s making $165,000 that she just fired – what – yesterday afternoon?” King mused with Schilling. (Excerpt) Read more at breitbart.com ...

==============================

INVESTIGATE THIS ---Dumb Debbie Wasserman Schultz seems to have stepped in it bigtime.

<><> DNC Debbie single-handedly aided and abetted the Awan clan's massive breach of US security on Capitol Hill....in more ways than one.

<><> Significantly DNC Debbie facilitated the clan getting security clearances. Never did it enter stupid Debbie's braindead mind that Muslim Pakistani nationals were more than office help?

<><>At the DNC, Schultz masterminded the clan's remuneration package----making sure they got paid handsomely---pocketing some 5 million tax dollars as they toiled to undermine Americans' safety and security.

<><> The clan's grotesque compensation package under Schultz's DNC leadership is certainly suspicious. Might involve wire-transfer fraud, mail fraud, theft, kickbacks, money laundering and tax evasion.

<><> Schultz's former IT staffer was still listed as her advisor--until she fired him when he got arrested.

<><> The Pakistani nationals under scrutiny by Capitol Police have since fled the country.

<><> More egregiously, the Pakistanis' ability to get visas (some reports say Imran traveled on White House visas) while under criminal scrutiny is a subject of speculation.....and may involve then-Secy Hillary Clinton and then-Pres Obama.

=========================================================

FACTS ON FILE Cong Debbie Wasserman Schultz's "IT advisor" is a VIP in Pakistan. In Pakistan, Imran Awan introduces himself as "from the US Congress" or from federal agencies. The Pakistan govt apparently considers Imran very important b/c of his representations about his political power in the US. Imran travels in Pakistan with a VIP police escort.

CIRCA 2017--Feds arrest Debbie Wasserman Schultz's IT Staffer absconding to Pakistan
Fox News ^ | 7/25/2017 / FR Posted by advance_copy

A Democrat House IT staffer at the center of a congressional computer equipment scandal has been arrested by federal officials and charged with bank fraud, Fox News has learned. Fox News is told officers and agents from the U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI and Customs and Border Protection were involved in the arrest of Imran Awan at Dulles International Airport.

Awan, 37, of Virginia, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to one count of bank fraud during his arraignment in federal court in Washington, D.C. He was released but will have to wear a GPS monitor and abide by a curfew. Awan also was ordered to turn over all his passports. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 21.

Law enforcements authorities for months have been looking into how Awan may have double-billed the House for equipment like computers, iPads, monitors, keyboards and routers. Several relatives of Awan worked for House Democrats and were fired months ago. Awan, however, was kept on staff by Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., even though he was no longer allowed access to the House server network.

Wasserman Schultz, has now fired Awan. Spokesman David Damron said Tuesday in a statement. (Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...

He may not walk too easily, but a plea means he probably won’t face any of the serious national security charges. Maybe 18 months in club fed for lying on a loan application...

Nice to see someone cultivating this furrow.

All of the property record data, appraisals, home inspections, title reports, mortgage applications, escrow disbursement records, etc. are archived in the cloud.

It is time to start pulling chains on the support cast of conspiring critters. IMHO, many people KNEW and used nuanced language in their reports that avoided words that would trigger an audit.

At the lowest level, unindicted co-conspirators. Start yanking on the appraisers because these licensed professions had to physically inspect these properties owned by the AWANS.
