Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro has told Trump administration staffers that she would be interested in taking over as attorney general from Jeff Sessions, Politico reported Thursday.
Pirro, who has been a vocal supporter of President Trump since his campaign, has repeatedly told Trump aides since the election that she would like to be the attorney general, according to the report.
The Fox News host has frequently used her show to target Sessions, and recently described him as the most dangerous man in America.
However, aides told Politico that Trump is not seriously considering Pirro for the job. He did reportedly offer to nominate her to a federal judgeship during an Oval Office meeting last November, although a former official claimed to Politico that Trump was trying to flatter her more than make a sincere offer.
While Pirro initially pitched herself as attorney general during the transition, she also signaled interest in being named deputy attorney general, Politico reported.

Yes, agreed...Mark Levin may be rusty on some things related to law, but...that is what subordinates are for.
He has the right frame of mind.
Howver, even if Levin was a total dunce (which he is not!) it still might be worthwhile to see leftist heads exploding like pumpkins with .50 cal rounds passing through them!
(As Dan Bongino likes to state often out of necessity...I am speaking figuratively about pumpkin heads and rounds passing through them. Real, unlawful violence is YOUR arena, you dopes on the Left!)
She is awesome.
Sad to say, I believe you're correct.
The same congress that found Janet Reno, Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, John Brennan et. al. perfectly palatable would find Judge Jeannine "too extreme."
I love her openings
But she seems so shy and timid....
So did Mary Richards
And the guy who is there has been asleep for 500 days! She would be a welcome site the AG position.
Hubba hubba... And smart!
What exactly has little Jeffery done since being appointed to A.G. to deserve anybody’s support at this time? Lets see, he has threatened the State of California about their sanctuary laws, he has threatened a lot of pot smokers and he has threatened illegal family’s with separation. Nothing more than threats! Where are the indictments?
Remember Lois Lerner? Little Jeffery didn’t want to prosecute her for her crimes and didn’t he also say that he wouldn’t prosecute Hillary or anyone else in the prior admin.? Funny, we have an A.G. that ignores crime!
As for the Congress not approving a new A.G., POTUS can certainly apply enough pressure to a few stupid senators to get it done.
Good lady, but she’s got some baggage. She had her Husband’s mistress followed and bugged his boat.
Ok by me.
The most abitious of the cutthoats are the ones that survive to senior status....
I like her-she’d be a fine attack dog, but she’d never get past the senate-they’d fall on their swords to stop her appointment-both dems and anti-Trump RINOs.
But as for “baggage”, I had my 1st husband’s mistress followed by a cousin who was a LEO-sometimes I followed her myself when I was off work and had the time. We didn’t have a boat, but I bugged our home phone and put a tracking device on his truck-not a crime, and I’ve never made a secret of it-it just makes Judge Pirro a badass-not a whiny, wimpy woman...
With in a week, Jeanine Pirro would have all the crooks indicted!
Now, he could name her acting attorney general, let congress stew. Wonder how long that might last?
One thing about Levin. He regards the constitution as sacrosanct. And he knows it inside and out.
That would be a great confirmation hearing to watch!!
Isn’t there a provision for a temporary appointment other than a recess appointment? I thought I remember reading he could do that for 210 days, but perhaps it’s the recess appointment that I’m recalling.
Vacancies Reform Act of 1998. They’re called ‘interim appointments’ as distinct from ‘recess appointments’. A lot of sources who should know better don’t know the difference.
