German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Wednesday she expected “contentious discussions” at a G7 summit this week, given differences with US President Donald Trump on trade, climate and security.
Speaking two days before the Canada meeting of the club of major industrialized democracies, Merkel also said the leaders may not necessarily manage to agree on a final joint statement.
“I think everyone knows there will be difficult discussions there, because G7 summits deal with the global economy, trade, climate protection, development—and foreign policy,” she told German parliament. […]
Merkel vowed to enter the talks “in good faith”, but stressed that there must be “no compromise for its own sake” and that a final statement by the host Canada, rather than a joint communiqué, “may be the more honest way”. …

How do you account for the fact that the United Nations Charter follows the format of the Russian (USSR) Constitution of 1936 rather than the format of the (Covenant of the) League of Nations? And like everything “BT,” (Before Trump) it has been abetted by our government since its inception. Along with “foreign aid,” our “support” for the UN needs to stop, and it’s HQ needs to be moved to a non-U.S. location. And as a symbolic gesture, Trump needs to find out just how much money is owed to the City of New York by way of traffic fines and other levies, and make a point of deducting those costs from the next UN budget cycle, remitting the money to the city. NYC’s Commie mayor will $hit a brick!
If I were Trump I would tell each one of them we will offer you the same terms you offer us, that is fair. No tariffs on us, no tariffs on you. Oh you want a 10% tariff on US goods, fine, 10% on yours. I would offer it privately and then when they start their leaks I would offer it loudly and publicly. The free ride is over Eurotrash mooches!
She forgets that if it wasn’t for the US, she wouldn’t have a country to make petty, empty little threats from.
