It's no secret that President Donald Trump loathes his attorney general, Jeff Sessions. The reason it's no secret is because on a weekly basis -- and sometimes even a daily basis -- the President is tweeting his distaste for Sessions.
Just when you thought the bullying couldn't get any worse -- Trump has repeatedly said he would never and should never have hired Sessions, called him "beleaguered," "very weak" and "disgraceful," and reportedly refers to the former Alabama senator as "Mr. Magoo" -- today happened.
The scene: A FEMA briefing in which Trump and a number of his Cabinet officials were seated around a table. For most of the Cabinet officials, Trump was effusive in his praise of the job they were doing. And then there was Sessions.
Here's what Trump said about each of the Cabinet members; I saved Sessions until last because, well, you'll see.
* Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: "Mike. Mike, another great job you are doing. Secretary Michael Pompeo. We're keeping him very busy. We're keeping you so busy. You're going to be flying -- a lot of flying in the next couple of weeks. But what a job you've done, and we appreciate it. The whole country appreciates it, Mike. Thank you very much." * Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin: "Steve Mnuchin. Steve, wherever you may be. He's working hard on those taxes and keeping the taxes down. We passed the greatest tax cut in the history of our country, and lots of other things. And thank you very much. Great. I think we say that we have had the strongest -- this is the strongest, from an economic standpoint, that our country has ever been. We're doing better in terms of business, in terms of unemployment. We've broken the record with

They need to show the appearance that Sessions is not like Lynch was with Obama and look like he’s impartial. Otherwise once the 35,000/indictments come out, it won t look like it is just about political and. The liberals and democrats need to think Sessions is not a Trump yes man. The liberals are stupid and want to believe anything and anyone that looks against Trump, so they won’t spend the time to think things out.
Look, Flynn pleads guilty to lying even though the FBI admits they don’t know what he lied about. Sessions recuses himself when he didn’t need to. Trump supposedly hates the job Sessions is doing, but never fires him.
POS ELF!! He is the reason for this effin witch hunt!!
Trump knew he was a 30 year Senator. What did he expect?
“How could it be obstruction of justice when Sessions obviously doesnt do ANYTHING except sit around and try to count his toes?”
spot on brilliant observation: particularly, since Sessions recused himself from anything having to do with the Russian collusion demoncrat fantasy projection of their own sins. but then, Trump would be left with the evil weasel rosenstein.
someone should run this by Guiliani and Trump for their consideration.
The Q-ooks think Trump and Sessions are playing out some 3D
game. The reality is Sessions is AWOL from the biggest scandal
in history...by his own choosing.
And Trump is not amused by it.
Jeff Sessions is Trumps self made tar baby. Instead of complaining about him all the time, Trump needs to get rid of him. Otherwise, what’s the point? Session is an establishment plant in the most strategic position of all and WILL be the undoing of the Trump presidency. Trump has to know that.
Trump could easily rid himself of Sessions if he really wanted to.
Obviously he doesn't want to get rid of him. If the Sessions-bashers here are right, that is, that Sessions is a sleepy-eyed swamp creature determined to slow walk everything so that nobody is ever brought to justice, then that doesn't reflect very well on Trump keeping him around, now does it?
Well my opinion on Trump is that he's nobody's fool and probably the sharpest knife ever in the presidential drawer. So it is logical for me to conclude that this "Trump-Sessions" feud is nothing but theater.
How do people think it would play out if Trump and Sessions were "best buddies" and Trump kept back-slapping him and saying "My man Jeff! Getting things done over at Justice! Wait 'til you see all the indictments my man Jeff is gonna roll out on Hillary and her crew!"
So yes, if things are really going to go down, it is important for Trump to keep his distance and even make it seem like he's really upset with the job Sessions is doing.
Now granted, the media is still going to go to a whole new level of hysteria should indictments rain down on the Democrats. They will still say it's Trump taking "banana republic style" revenge on his political opponents. But that criticism just won't have the same cachet had Trump and Sessions been back-slapping buddies all this time.
That surreal, fact-free theory just needs to die. It’s 100% detached from reality.
Check out the presidents remarks on any source you want. Trump said it. I certainly hope you werent offended by any slight directed at that stooge POS Sessions.
Maybe Roy Moore knows the scoop on Sessions.
I find it hilarious he mentioned his name at all !
4DChess. It’s 4D; 3Dchess is not BOOMy enough for the Kabuki crew.
You know, somebody needs to clue the Qers that the purpose of indictments is to indict. The idea that indictments fulfill their purpose simply by existing, and never being unsealed, is psycho.
But of course the Big Reveal will happen any day now.
Any day...
If that’s true, why keep bitching about things that won’t change?
Do you have any idea how long the TRUST SESSIONS crew has been hyping the sealed indictments?
Only in the minds of those surface-skaters who are incapable of thinking any deeper than literal words.
Things will change. At some point firing Sessions will be a politically survivable move. Then things will change.
It's very very shocking at how Jeff Sessions is putting his own pride before country.
Why is Sessions so stubborn? He knows his refusal was based on entrapment and false information. As such, Session should un-recuse in BOLD Fashion. Sessions should be BOLD in he un-recusal now knowing how corrupt the DOJ is and how Obumer spied on Trump.
If Sessions isn't confident enough to be as bold as lion, then he needs to RESIGN.
Sessions needs to RESIGN in June, 2018 if he doesn't unrecuse. It's time.
Unrecusal: To requalify (oneself) as judge in a particular case; broadly : to reinstate (oneself) with participation after confirming there is no conflict of interest.
Sessions needs to resign. The good people of Alabama needs to ask Sessions to put country before his pride. So sad.
What did you think of the pic of Barack Hussein Obama pointing the AK47?
Or hasn’t that soon-to-be-released photo surfaced yet?
LOL! Trump has had all this time to fire Sessions, but hasn’t. Other people Trump was not happy with, gone, but not Sessions. Think about it.
Also from the article...
‘Most other Cabinet members — or, really, people — would have quit long before this most devastating of embarrassments. Jeff Sessions isn’t most people.’
So the question is why, why doesn’t he quit?
