It's no secret that President Donald Trump loathes his attorney general, Jeff Sessions. The reason it's no secret is because on a weekly basis -- and sometimes even a daily basis -- the President is tweeting his distaste for Sessions.
Just when you thought the bullying couldn't get any worse -- Trump has repeatedly said he would never and should never have hired Sessions, called him "beleaguered," "very weak" and "disgraceful," and reportedly refers to the former Alabama senator as "Mr. Magoo" -- today happened.
The scene: A FEMA briefing in which Trump and a number of his Cabinet officials were seated around a table. For most of the Cabinet officials, Trump was effusive in his praise of the job they were doing. And then there was Sessions.
Here's what Trump said about each of the Cabinet members; I saved Sessions until last because, well, you'll see.
* Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: "Mike. Mike, another great job you are doing. Secretary Michael Pompeo. We're keeping him very busy. We're keeping you so busy. You're going to be flying -- a lot of flying in the next couple of weeks. But what a job you've done, and we appreciate it. The whole country appreciates it, Mike. Thank you very much." * Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin: "Steve Mnuchin. Steve, wherever you may be. He's working hard on those taxes and keeping the taxes down. We passed the greatest tax cut in the history of our country, and lots of other things. And thank you very much. Great. I think we say that we have had the strongest -- this is the strongest, from an economic standpoint, that our country has ever been. We're doing better in terms of business, in terms of unemployment. We've broken the record with

I thought he seemed a little beaten down in that video. Anybody else get a sad feeling for pres Trump?

You: “I thought he seemed a little beaten down in that video.”
Me: Did we watch the same video?? I thought he looked like he was quite enjoying himself! Maybe you need to look at a better quality video. See my prior post for a link.
______
You: “Anybody else get a sad feeling for pres Trump?”
Me: Not a bit!. He’s having the time of his life! Are you, perhaps, feeling sad and defeated?
No. I’ve actually been feeling quite good lately. Maybe I am projecting onto him the angst I’ve felt on his behalf with all of the negative vibes the media and various celebs have dished out for more than a year.
I remember the Nixon “trial”. He was not liked and they wanted to get rid of him. His whole family was humiliated.. His wife was a nice quiet person. What they charged Nixon with, was piddly, compared to what is going on today in our government.
I watched the hearing where John Dean decided to tell everything he knew or didn’t know. I couldn’t believe what he was saying... he just tried to save himself and I didn’t like what he did. Even back then, I never thought what they did was so severe to remove Nixon and send those men to prison..
Will mccabe be the John Dean of today... if he testifies and tells what he “knows”, who will he incrminate? just comey, or will he tell things that are untrue about Trump. To tell what the left wants to hear, to get off himself. John Dean helped send several Nixon’s administration to prison. They didn’t hesitate sending men with that position, to prison... but today, I don’t think they will. even the past president is guilty in this one.
—I think this is the very reason they are cancelling the summer recess: Presidential recess appointments.—
I agree.
Mcconnell was on Laura’s show...and they lie with ease!! Have for years.. and Trump’s tweets, promises kept, loyalty to his voters... shows them all up for who they are.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Thank you, Jeff. Thank you very much.
More like, “thanks for nothing.”
“most people with any degree of self respect would quit. But not ole jeff.”
Well that’s likely because Jeff is “owned” and can’t quit. He’s there to block for the Deep Staters.
That CNN et al puts the MSM firmly on the side of Jeff Sessions. They will be defending him vociferously, even desperately as Trump’s vituperation gets ranker and ranker right up to the point, probably in September when the Swamp Rats all get their indictments unsealed and some are even cuffed. MSM will be caught singing paeans to the man who cuts the ground from under all their feet and their frantic about-facing will be seen by even the dense FR Sessions haters.
If Trump fired Sessions, the Senate would not approve a replacement and every politician and media type would say over and over again this proves Trump is guilty. And who knows what lies Sessions would say to the media, Congress and the Mueller investigators.
In the short term, keeping a useless, disloyal do nothing like Sessions in place is less harmful than the fight involved in replacing him.
What do you base this opinion on?
Exactly. It amazes me that more people can't recognize Trump's strategy (though some vocal "doubters" are playing their own roles in the play), but that just highlights why the diversionary trap has been so successful. President Trump knows what he is doing, and who must do each part.
It DJT cleans out the Swamp, gets all the indictments and arrests out there too early the Leftmsm will have time to mount a tremendous campaign to minimize the effects and many of the Rats will go free just because the judges will be intimidated. And, of course, that Socialist Wave just might sweep the Democrats back into Congress' control. Patience. Trump knows what he is doing. He may possibly fail but if he does there is no one else who can do the job. If it can be done he will do it. If he can't do it it can't be done and the Totalitarians will be back and in control permanently very quickly.
Refusing to investigate the Awan brothers is supposedly just one more example of the high level 3D chess Sessions is playing.
Until they can rid of all Obama and Hillary cronies in the FBI, CIA, DOJ, judges etc. it does no good to charge anyone.
Whatever. Sessions spent the most time with Trump before the election than anyone else on his team. Again, Sessions recused himself when he didn’t have to. Flynn said he lied when he didn’t. Gowdy says the FBI acted appropriately when he doesn’t even see any documents and Trump says nothing about that. These don’t strike you as odd?
And we all lived happily ever after. That’s some fairy tale you’re spinning with absolutely no facts or history whatsoever to back it up. Sometimes facing the facts of how entrenched the DS is can be hard. I assume Gowdy has a part in your fantasy as well.
No key words, but leading off, the story video insists on opening up with Pruitt, and directly comparing Pruitt to Sessions is clearly aimed at the Evangelical Christian vote. Abusing Sessions is absolutely a mistake, and CNN is making an argument that Pruitt is also a mistake. CNN is trying to build the case that Evangelicals cannot in good conscience support Trump with the end of suppressing the vote of that demographic. I think they may be making too much of the idealism of Evangelicals in doing this. Most are going to have a high tolerance for the Pruitt’s of the world because crooked is to politics as water is to ocean and besides that, what’s the alternative? As long as Pruitt advances Trump’s agenda Evangelicals will within reason ignore his shenanigans. If he does anything to make Trump look really bad there is no reason to believe that Trump won’t deal with him swiftly so he is a non-issue.
OM MY GOSH!!!!! That’s friggin’ awesome!
