A quick post, only because of this historic day, after which I shall disappear again.
A few years ago, I visited the beaches of Normandy. I walked to the waters edge, and turned to face the bluffs ahead. It was a humbling experience to envision the bravery it took to run towards the continuous fire of the enemy,
My father landed there this day. He was a member of the First Special Engineering Brigade. His assignment was to clear obstacles and land mines, like he had done at Salerno, Sicily, and North Africa.
May God forever bless all those that were there that day.
