You don’t know what you are talking about.
I’m in this district! I know.
If you understood politics of the past 40 years or so of the South, and knew the history, you’d know that it was democrat back then. But the Progressive March Leftward tore through the nation and the democrats abandoned real American values for those of the Soviet Union.
Bright, like many older democrats in Alabama, switched to the Republican party because they started out as Conservative Democrats, but now that the democrat party represents socialists, communists and other blood-suckers of humanity and the exodus of Conservative Democrats to the Conservative party is complete.
Bright was about the last of the Conservative Democrats and now even he has seen the light.
Roby is a RINO who wants to pass Ryan’s Amnesty bill.
There’s no doubt in my mind; Roby’s got to go.
A)It doesn’t matter where either of us lives friend, publicly known facts are publicly known facts, I know all about political history,
B)You wanna tell the President he doesn’t know what he’s talking about? At this point he knows Roby better than either of us. And he clearly doesn’t give a fig about Bright’s supposed support for him.
C)Bright ran for Congress as a democrat, not in 1974, or 1982, but in 2008, on the same ticket with Huissien Obama, 14 years after Republicans started winning the large majority of non-Black seats in the South and 4 years after the last actually conservative democrat in Congress (Ralph Hall) switched, no one could still claim “history of the South” or “my daddy was a democrat” as an excuse at that point. Unless he was a completely clueless imbecile (which is a disqualifier for office) he knew he was seeking to join a socialist caucus that would be serving a socialist President.
He then (though you claimed he didn’t) voted for Pelsoi for Speaker.
Only now (Doug Jones election aside) with the Bama dems no longer a viable party for the large majority of White people, is he saying he’s a Republican.
I welcome him to the party and urge him to make his bones as a loyal Republican. I join the President though in hoping he’s not welcomed back to Congress. If the third place dude (seems like an ok guy, those charges he was acquitted of seem like trumped up BS) had made the runoff I’d say go ahead and jettison Roby but in no way is she bad enough to take a flier on the likes of Bright.
You and I (and the President) need to agree to disagree I guess. If Trump had endorsed Bright, I would have disagreed with him so I respect that.
AB, I think you’re being a bit too generous towards Bright. Although clearly he voted well to the right of the Communist average for Democrats, he certainly wasn’t voting along the lines of Zell Miller. He lost reelection to a subpar Roby. Frankly, I don’t care for either of them. She’s too liberal and flaky, and his voting record was still to her left. Trump supports her, if only because Bright did vote for Pelosi for Speaker. That may be an unforgiveable sin.
