I’d like to see more licensed degreed tech jobs just to put an end to the corporate-India lie that there aren’t people in America qualified to do the work. It would also help job norm the salaries in the industry so that contractors aren’t getting only $15 an hour with 20 years experience for a $25-30/hour job.
Microsoft lost a lawsuit because they were directing contractors as if they were regular employees (but paid far less) and eventually had to hire them and pay them the difference in back pay.
I wouldn’t go the licensed protectionist route for all jobs but when the employers are going to lie to congress to depress wages in the industry and rake in billions, something need to be done.
Pay more.
Out of the wagon. I dont feel like working but I do because thats what is required. Disability is a scam 95 percent of the time.
Pay more. Free market and all. Thats easy. Wages have stagnated.
I remember before the H1-B boom, there was this thing called “training.” Back when CHRis only got 20x the average worker’s pay, not 100x...
Thx. For being a good person and doing whats needed. Bravo. Live life!
God bless....and CONTINUE to keep you!
What a wonderful story you have. You have overcome NUMEROUS obstacles and have proven the naysayers so wrong!
God has great plans for you...to bless your dear daughter’s... and many other lives.
Companies used to train. I got my start in a company training program, they used to do this, and eventually worked my way into a senior position in a field usually restricted to degreed professionals. I dont consider myself that much smarter than the average bear. People are entirely capable of learning on the job. That used to be the norm. Ive also seen the effects of H1B; most of them I liked, but their availability did in fact keep wages flat for years and years.
In a lot of hospitals its rare to see an American nurse or doctor. It isnt for lack of American who want to be nurses and doctors.
So much for Obama’s “New Norms”....
it is rare because the powers that be in nursing and medicine artificially control the output, and are working to create systems with expendable and cheap labor.
