It’s still not our national anthem.

Every time we sing our anthem, we are memorializing the men and women who died to provide this nation to us. It reminds us of the eternal struggle to keep this nation free.

God is mentioned in the pledge, as well He should be.

Somehow we got through the Revolution, the War of 1812, the Mexican War and the War Between the States without anyone ever having said the pledge of allegiance. Then we got through the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II, and the Korean War before the word "God" was added to the pledge.

Of course the real reason the wording was changed in the 1950s was so that kids would not misunderstand the phrase "one nation indivisible" as "one naked individual."

Or so I read somewhere...
