Ex-Democratic National Committee head Debbie Wasserman Schultz said she intervened in a Pakistani land deal involving her then–IT aide Imran Awan, according to two House employees. The dispute came after Awan’s father was charged with fraud in relation to the deal, and the mysterious exertion of political influence resulted in Pakistani authorities instead targeting the elderly alleged victims, according to a local report.

And when a House Office of Inspector General cybersecurity investigation found that Awan made “unauthorized access” to House servers, including the House Democratic Caucus’ shortly before the election, Wasserman Schultz became “frantic, not normal,” “making the rounds” to House officials in an attempt to kill the investigation, one House employee told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Awan told people Wasserman Schultz chose the name for his daughter, Leza — a Jewish name — and that the Florida congresswoman’s daughter regularly rode a horse that Awan kept at a boarding facility, sources with knowledge of the relationship told TheDCNF.

Minhas told the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF) - which traveled to Pakistan to interview those involved - that Haji Ashraf Awan, Imran Awan’s father, had been giving information to Rehman Malik - former head of Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and current senator. Malik was appointed to Interior Minister in early 2008, only to step down in 2013 after he lost a Supreme Court hearing over holding dual UK citizenship.

Minhas told The Daily Caller News Foundation that Imran Awan’s father, Haji Ashraf Awan, was giving data to Pakistani official Rehman Malik, and that Imran bragged he had the power to “change the U.S. president.”

Asked for how he knew this, he said that on one occasion in 2008 when a “USB [was] given to Rehman Malik by Imran’s father, my brother Abdul Razzaq was with his father.”

Imran, with wife Hina Alvi, worked as IT server administrators for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (DEM-FLA), a Broward resident.

Wasserman's protege, Imran Awan, has been the target of an FBI investigation since the House Inspector General alleged in Sept 2016 that:

<><> systematically falsified congressional financial records.

Investigators say the alleged House congressional fraud may extend to millions of dollars. The FBI is in possession of hundreds of “Suspicious Activity Reports” detailing unusual transfers from Imran’s bank accounts, officials said.

The mounting catalogue of allegations add another colorful twist to a story that already includes the suspect leaving a laptop with the username RepDWS (Debbie Wasserman Schultz) in a phone booth after he was banned from the House network; an arrest at Dulles airport with a suitcase full of cash.

The disappearance of the entire House Democratic Caucus server is problematic.....then Cong Xavier Becerra headed he Caucus. He is now Cali's top lawman but refuses to comment on the server missing from his office.

Prosecutors have charged Imran and Alvi with bank fraud related to a House retirement account and a mortgage after the FBI said Imran impersonated his wife to bank officials and initiated a $300,000 wire transfer to Pakistan, falsely claiming it was for a funeral.

said Rep. Steve King, an Iowa Republican who serves on the Committee on the Judiciary, told TheDCNF after it briefed him on the latest findings.

“Anybody that’s hiding assets by buying gold bars and trying to get people to set up secret LLCs to hide real estate holdings, who knows what else is going on. If he’s going to those lengths there are a lot of assets here,” he said. “How much of this do [prosecutors] know? They should.”

On May 3, prosecutors said they were “currently exploring a possible resolution of this matter.”
