New Jersey and Gun Control

The gun control conundrum will continue ad infinitum. But what is happening in New Jersey should frighten anyone -- gun owner or not. NJS102 will most likely be affirmed by the Democrat senate majority in the NJ legislature. The NJ Assembly has already passed the following:
- A1217, which would create restraining orders in the state allowing family members and others to ask a judge to have a person's guns seized and ban them from buying weapons for up to a year.
- A2757, which would require all private gun sales in the state to go through a licensed dealer who can perform an additional background check at the point of sale.
- A2759, which would create an outright ban in the state on possessing armor-piercing bullets.
- A2761, which would ban magazines in the state that hold more than 10 rounds, with some exceptions.

Sometimes ideology leads to ignorance. NJ is the wealthiest state or close to it, lots of jobs, proximity to two major cities, beautiful shore areas, decent hunting, and house prices are high for a reason. Also liberal due to minorities and immigrants in the cities.

I agree.
A lot of conservatives had trouble warming up to Trump because of the president’s personal and professional history.
But as they say, every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future.

Take I-84 west across CT into New York, then down through Port Jervis to the Scranton area. You can pick up I-81 there and take it all the way down along the eastern side of the Appalachians to Tennessee without setting foot in New Jersey.

Part of it may be comparative - when placed against most elected people of his peer group (people representing highly minority areas), he still comes across with much more class. (not that it’s hard to do)

I would estimate that at least $100 billion in personal net worth has left New Jersey since 2000. The number might even be higher. I saw a report on a demographic study that put this figure at around $70 billion as of 2009.

Same here. Less traffic, way more scenic and you don’t pay a fortune in tools.

NYS already has “The Safe Act” which is fare more draconian.

“Hard to imagine most of this will stand up to Constitutional scrutiny.”
The 3rd circuit has more republican appointed judges than many other circuits, and the pending legislation is so draconian there’s at least hope that it will be struck down. The magazine ban is beyond ridiculous, most pistols came with 15 round magazines when purchased, that’s how they were designed. Same with so-called assault rifles. Now you’re going to tell the hundreds of thousands of law abiding owners many who have had them for 20-30 years that their legally purchased weapon is no longer lawful? The only real hope is to stop this in the courts, trying to pressure legislators here is a waste of time. Let’s see what the NRA and other groups do with all those donations they collect.

I get it - Trump is an oaf, a goofball, not classy, not presidential at all. ...but did that make him worse than the alternative, really?Agree 100%!
Dear Lord,
Please continue to protect, care for and give wisdom to President Trump, his family and his advisers.
Amen.
