While I do not necessarily disagree with you, it doesn't seem like that's been working out too well, neither.
Yes, don't confront the LEO's. But complaining to their media accomplices?!? Surely you jest.
Lotsa cameras at these "events". But not all the time. d;^)
While I don’t disagree about the issue with the press, you’re still not going to prevail one on one with the officers on the scene. Folks need to realize that up front.
In this instance, it really doesn’t seem like this guy got a fair shake, but I don’t know how he was addressing the officers either.
In these group settings, you’re not always going to win. It was the realization of this that caused me to be unable to ask people I cared about to join me out there.
You can’t count on the Left acting like adults. You can’t count on the officers on the scene seeing it your way either.
The best thing your group leader can do, is to contact the officers before the event. Meet with them one on one if you can. Tell them what you goals are, and that you are a peaceful group and will not start trouble.
Then hope like hell your own guys live within that.
Nothing screws this up more, than for us to get the officers on our side, and them some “smarter than everyone else” idiot on our side goes and pops off to the police, shouts vulgarity at the others, and then gets into a fracas.
The next time you want the officers on your side, it’s over.
Of course that “smarter than everyone else” guy is just positive that he really made that last event successful.
