The most remarkable thing about the subtitle of this column, A Cornell student presents her senior thesis in her underwear, is that not one reader will think its a joke.
That, my friends, is further proof of the low esteem in which most Americans hold our universities.
The Left has rendered our universities, in the description of Harvard professor Steven Pinker, a laughingstock.
As reported in the Cornell Daily Sun and then around the world, this is what actually happened last week at Cornell University, one of our Ivy League universities:
Letitia Chai, a Cornell senior, presented a trial run of her college-scholar senior thesis wearing a blue button-down shirt and cutoff jean shorts. Her professor, Rebekah Maggor, asked her, Is that really what you would wear? The professor went on to say that Chais shorts were too short that, as a speaker, she was making a statement with the clothes she was wearing.
...
Its hard to know which aspect of this story is the most ludicrous and the most disturbing.
Is it the students stripping down to their underwear? That delivering a senior thesis in ones underwear before fellow students, most of whom also stripped down to their underwear, is acceptable even honored at Cornell University tells you just about all you need to know to understand the degraded state of Cornell and most other American universities.

Unfortunately shes brainless and probably a liberal. Thats its own sort of ugly and it runs to the bone.
Lol!!
Tenants, tenets, what's the difference?! And this is an Ivy League institution. God help us.
Her prof should have flunked her. With a big fat F.
WTF?
Thank you for the report.
Attention whore enabled ...
Does the university have ANY conduct rules any more?
You've heard the expression "what is seen cannot be unseen...?
You've been warned
Leticia Chai, sounds like some overpriced swill one would order at Starschmucks.
My uncle graduated from Cornell in the mid 70’s, it was a liberal sh!thole back then, but at least a degree from there still meant something.
Yes, I agree that the song is appropriate. I've heard this parody version, closer to the real alma mater..
"Far above Cayuga's waters, there's an awful smell. Some say it's Cayuga's waters, others know it's Cornell."
You mean the guy who is standing next to Mr. Kotter, right?
