The New York Times headline reporting on the May jobs numbers that came out yesterday might go down in history: "We ran out of words to describe how good the jobs numbers are."
The real question in analyzing the May jobs numbers released Friday is whether there are enough synonyms for "good" in an online thesaurus to describe them adequately.
So, for example, "splendid" and "excellent" fit the bill. Those are the kinds of terms that are appropriate when the United States economy adds 223,000 jobs in a month, despite being nine years into an expansion, and when the unemployment rate falls to 3.8 percent, a new 18-year low..
"Salubrious," "salutary" and "healthy" work as words to describe the 0.3 percent rise in average hourly earnings, which are up 2.7 percent over the last year – a nice improvement but also not the kind of sharp increase that might lead the Federal Reserve to rethink its cautious path of interest rate increases.
Did aliens slip some mind-altering drug into the brains of New York Times editors?
No, but someone needs to give Nancy Pelosi a happy pill.
"May's jobs report shows that strong employment numbers mean little to the families hit with soaring new costs under the Republicans' watch," Pelosi said in a statement.
"Republicans' cruel, cynical health care sabotage campaign is already spiking families' premiums by double digits and pushing millions off their coverage, according to the nonpartisan CBO," she went on. "Big Pharma continues to hoard the benefits of the GOP tax scam, using their handouts to further enrich executives and shareholders instead of lowering prescription drug costs for seniors and sick kids. At the same time, the President's reckless policies are exploding gas prices,

Wrong!!! Pelosi cares deeply about the unemployed as well as the poor and destitute.
Without them, she has NOTHING to harp, weep, criticize and politicize about.
The higher employment rises, the higher wages rise, the higher confidence in the future rises, the less Pelosi and her kind have to whine about.
Misery is the chief talking point of the left. It is their lifeblood. Hhappy, contented people are the left’s enemy.
The comments on the NYT article are a hoot, if you have a sense of humor (which should be easy to have, as they are mostly sour yeah but comments). The left is simultaneously giving credit to Hussein, while pooh-poohing the job numbers as McJobs.
To a perpetual political parasite they may mean little, but to the labor force it indicates the at do to supply and demand wages should be going up soon. But Democrats like poverty, that’s why they want open borders and illegal aliens. So they support the foreign invasion of the USA.
I long for two days:
1. The day Pelosi Galore is unemployed.
2. The day Pelosi Galore is no more.
I long opposite. She should be there for as long as possible for the world to see what true democrats is.
Great post!
Second rule of holes: When your enemy is digging them selves into a hole, hand her a shovel.
Resistor sister, Pelosi, and the ‘rats are out-of-touch with millions of citizens in this republic...

Pelosi is right. Strong unemployment mean little when liberal regulations drive up the cost of living well beyond the means of the average worker.
This is the equivalent of her ‘crumbs’ comment regarding the tax breaks.
Workers were pretty much stuck with their current employer, income was stagnant or declining, opportunities were limited. People were terrified of losing their jobs, because that meant long periods of unemployment. Employers could boot them around, reducing benefits and perks, cutting vacation time, and treating them only a little better than indentured servants. This is one of the reasons why there was a lot of corporate support for a Hillary victory.
For a party that claims to be anti corporatist, and pro worker, the democrat party was the best for corporations, and really bad for the regular employee. The democrat party was really bad for blue collar workers. The democrat party policies and agenda made no effort to improve the economy for the average worker. Their agenda is all about advancing socialism, creating a toxic and divisive environment among different people, and at the same time increasing the number of poor and dependent people.
The Democrats always accuse our side of being extremists, but nothing is more extreme than them trying to make us poor so they can control our lives.
Your post illustrated that very well.
I hope that President Trump turns the mid terms into a referendum of Nancy Pelosi and her policies.
Funny you mention that; Pelosi specifically said ObamaCare would give people more freedom to leave jobs (I believe she used artists as an example), and it had exactly the opposite effect - because it would force people into the ruinous ObamaCare fiasco. You’re right - workers lost a lot of ground under Otoken (he never represented taxpayers, just 1%ers and the welfare class, along with “otherized” nothings) - and that came back and killed Hillary in the Upper Midwest.
