I suspect you are one who must see results RIGHT NOW, a "millennial" or younger.

It’s been a long time since anyone referred to me as being young. Thank you…I feel a step quicker already this morning. I have to confess, however, that I’ve been posting on Free Republic for nearly 20 years. Like you, I’m a veteran and probably somewhere around your age.

Obviously we have different views about Jeff Sessions. I respect your opinions (thanks for sharing your views) but consider, if you will, that Sessions’ DOJ is stonewalling and obstructing the legal and lawful oversight function of the United States Congress. Think about that for a moment. What does this say about our system of checks and balances? If one agency can thwart the will of congress (i.e., the people of the United States) others surely will do the same. I don’t think I need to explain the ramifications of this; they should be self-evident.

Moreover, many subversive partisans, indeed members of a treasonous cabal, are still in their positions of trust. What kind of message does this send to the country, and the world, about our system of government and the supposed integrity of our institutions? This scandal is probably the WORST one in our history in terms of its damaging effects on our trust in government.

I think we both will agree that over the past year this scandal has taken a big toll on the country. Make no mistake about it, we are witnessing a serious crisis of confidence in our government and many American are now openly questioning the equity and fairness of our laws because they see the reality of a two tiered system of “justice”.

I won’t belabor the point any further other than to say that Sessions is NOT the Attorney General. Rod Rosenweasel is the de facto AG and everybody knows it.

Meanwhile, we’ll agree to disagree, and let me enjoy my brief return to youth. You made my day. ;)

Exactly right, and frankly I don’t know of many, or any or our current politicians who are strong enough to weather such a storm.

Trump is one in a million and I am glad he is on our side.

:-)

He is getting the ducks all in their row. If Trump thought that he was hindering Trump's project he would be long gone and replaced. You are really not calling Sessions coward or incompetent. You are calling Trump incompetent. It was hard for me to quit second guessing Trump and what he does and does not do but everything Trump did that I thought foolish or boorish turned out to be effective tactics. So there's that. And there is the high probability that Trump is the only man in the population that can stopped the final takeover by the Democrats/Left. We chose him for that and now we must leave him to his work. He obviously knows and/or intuits far better than the rest of us. He is a one-off.

Actually the expressed skepticism of much of the right work for this President in that it goes to help keep the enemy focused on the wrong things. I do get frustrated though that folks who should be supporting him in whatever his methods are throwing rocks. I should mute and know I should mute because yall's slings and arrows help the project that way but it's hard.

“You are calling Trump incompetent…I do get frustrated though that folks who should be supporting him in whatever his methods are throwing rocks.”

******************

I think you’re being a bit hypersensitive to perceived criticism of Trump. While we disagree about Sessions’ competence and loyalty, I haven’t been accusing Trump of incompetence or “throwing rocks” at him. That is just not an accurate representation of anything I’ve said. I am merely expressing frustration that he hasn’t yet removed the toxic layer of conspirators and obstructionists still in the administration.

Obviously, Trump is very bright and competent. He wouldn’t have won the presidency (against all odds) if he wasn’t. Incidentally, if you went back and read some of my comments on FR you would know I am an ardent Trump supporter. In fact, I donated a considerable amount of money to his campaign.

Having said that, no one is above being questioned. He may well know and/or intuit far better than the rest of us (as you said) but he is not perfect. Nobody is. In a democracy it’s a healthy thing for people to ask questions and challenge their leaders. It stimulates thought and discussion, which is always a constructive thing. It’s not being disloyal. It’s exercising your rights, and indeed your responsibility, as a citizen in a participatory democracy.

Bear in mind that Trump himself doesn’t lay off on anyone. He attacks and questions with the best of them. LOL

So, I don’t believe that anyone on this conservative forum should be accused of throwing rocks at Trump. We all want him to succeed for the good of the country. It’s just that some of us are more inclined than others to question or challenge things we do not agree with or are concerned about.
