Kim Jong-un's opulent palace has been revealed in a series of remarkable photographs which give a tantalising glimpse into the life of the reclusive North Korean leader.

The pictures, taken at an unknown location near the North Korean capital Pyongyang, show his modern residence - complete with pristine gardens and a minimalist interior.

Valery Sharifulin, a Russian journalist, was given unique access to Kim's mansion while Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited Pyongyang.

Lavrov met with Kim while a former North Korean spy chief travelled to New York and met with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in an attempt to salvage a summit between President Trump and Kim.

President Donald Trump signaled on Thursday that he still expects to meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un on June 12 in Singapore, saying he's 'hopeful' that the summit will happen as scheduled.

He also confirmed that a North Korean delegation would 'probably' be coming to Washington on Friday to hand-deliver a letter from the North Korean dictator.

Kim Jong-un's house: A Russian photojournalist was given access to one of the North Korean dictator's lavish homes at an undisclosed location near Pyongyang. According to the tyrant's former bodyguard Lee Young-kuk, the North Korean leader keeps at least eight separate palaces outside the capital. Although Kim has several palaces, pictures of them are hard to come by because the North Korean government has put in place tight security measures to make sure very few photographs exist

Nice middle class digs in the West.

He must be a big fan of the Bauhaus/modernist style.

Nothing too gaudy or pretentious - I like it and the beautiful grounds outside appear to be well-kept.

Taco Bell. That said, it looks relatively modest.

I wonder how many gardeners he has.

Well, we’ve seen what he looks like. Unlimited Big Macs are de rigueur! He’s just removed the signage. But anyway, that’s surprisingly contemporary compared to what I would expect.

Of course it’s tidy. If the maid or gardener screw up, they go straight to the forced labor camp!

I knew where Starbucks got their business policies from, but I didn’t know they got their architectural inspiration from the same place.

An anti aircraft round will travel thru how many gardeners?

My guess is 37 to 40, depending on body mass. More in winter, less in summer.

His adoring subjects don't have nearly so nice.

Referring to him as a 'leader' is a stretch.

These ground photos will come in very handy in the future for pinpoint J-DAM attacks in six to nine months’ time when in ferocious anger we seek to decapitate the North Korean leadership for its treachery, dishonesty and reneging on a meaningless, unenforceable ‘agreement’ hammered out by State types in the great spirit of previous administrations—after they have taken to launching missiles again in an attempt to shake us down for another round of cash contributions. It is a shame. Nice looking little facilities but some bunker busters will put an end to that — and Kim Jong Un — in no uncertain terms..

But this simply can’t be. I thought the masses would enjoy the spoils too! You mean Kim isn’t living among the people and enjoying some tree bark noodles in a run-down dwelling?

Could be a disinformation photo shoot. For all we know it could be the residence for the head of the Chinese Embassy in Pyongyang, just hoping we drop a JDAM on the roof.

Fat Kim also had an ex-girfriend, a singer named Hyon Song-Wol.

Hyon disappeared from public view in 2006 when, according to reports in the Japanese media, she married a North Korean army officer with whom she had a child.

She was reported to have known Kim Jong-un, the youngest son of former North Korean leader Kim Jong-il, since they were both teenagers. South Korean government sources told the media that Hyon and Kim Jong-un had been romantically involved in the early 2000s after he returned to North Korea from his studies at a public school in Switzerland. His father reportedly disapproved of the relationship and the younger Kim and Hyon broke it off.
