#6. Sheryl Crow (who I like as a singer), is still trying to get her finger out of her butt.

Re the gallons per shower. Take a 4-5 minute shower. You shampoo your head immediately and then wash the body with a bar of soap. All off in less than 5 minutes. Plus most new shower heads have limits of GPM - known as watersaver heads, toilets, faucets, etc. I used to sell them when they first came out.

Advise to non-Californians. Keep you old shower heads. They work better than much of the newer crap.

Shower together - Husband and wife, Wife and daughter, etc. Dogs and cats showering together!!

An old simple but true method of saving water - pee in the shower while washing. It’s all going down the same drain pipes. Saves a lot of water over time.

Tell your politicians to go to hell and then vote them there!

Take a “sea shower!” Navy and Coast Guard do just this.
Shower on for a minute to get wet. Turn shower off, soap up all that needs to be soaped, then rinse off. Saves a lot of fresh water that has to be made, by the ship, from salt water.

It’s easy to modify or remove the restrictors in shower heads.

Soak body then STOP water. Wash the body with a toilet glove and soap first and shampoo the head last to avoid soap on eyes. Then reopen water and rinse (I always rinse with 100% cold water, winter or summer). It’s more like 2 minutes max than 5 minutes.
I do it since I was adolescent and feel vindicated when I had to do it as conscript in the Army.

My favorite shower heads came with instructions on how to pop out the flow restrictor "where permitted".

I think the EPA got wise and required the flow restrictors to be unremovable now. Unfortunately, the little passages in the shower head clog up over time if you live in an area with hard water, so old shower heads won't last forever. (Fortunately, I managed to snag a case of the old shower heads on ebay.)

3/5 of the planet is covered with water. Too much water is more of a problem than too little. An average of 3,536 people drown in non-boating related accidents in the US each year. Too little water isn't a problem unless you decide to live in a city built in the middle of a desert.

Will they cut off the water once the resident reaches their monthly ration?

So "Sunny California" becomes "Smelly California"!

the restrictor can easily be drilled out to increase the showerhear flow rate

Had the Seinfeld crew known how to do anything, a whole epiode would have been invalid

About those low flow shower heads...

They suck ass. So I have a 1/4” drill but on a T-hold panel that always comes with me on trips. When I get into my hotel room, I turn on the shower. If it’s not to my liking, I unscrew the shower head and look for the restrictive plate, which is a round contrivance with theee smaller holes in it. I either pop it out (usually) or drill it out (about 3 in 10) and I’ve got a real shower head back. It’s a viciously simple way of going after the environmental wackos.

I live in N Nevada, where a shortage of water is constant.

I belonged to a group fighting to educate people about water usage, and NONE of us have GREEN LAWNS.

At monthly meetings, the board was always asking for suggestions about saving water, I I restrained myself from using this suggestion.....

Sure wish I had said it. I could use the kick out of seeing their faces.
