Construction started Friday on the US-Mexico border wall project at ...San Diego County.
The work will replace about 14 miles of scrap metal wall that stands up to 10 feet high with a wall between 18 and 30 feet tall. The new wall will also have an anti-climbing plate.
Crews will build the wall starting half a mile from the Pacific Ocean, east to the bottom of Otay Mountain in East County.

Here goes the old stuff that is being replaced by 18 to 30 foot bollards, with deep Concrete foundations, anti-climbing plates, patrol road and more:
Bump for Trump...
I knew it would happen this way.
That is old appropriated money!! We need 100 % funding NOW! Dont be fooled.
That is FY18 funding from the recent Omnibus.
Two layers of barrier were funded for San Diego this year, 14 miles each.
The new stuff is going to be much taller, stronger and more durable (will stop even a large truck from ramming), and will have lots of extra infrastructure and features - roads, lights, sensors, anti-climbing plates, anti-tunneling foundations.
Winning! 4.5% growth and a good section of wall. OIG report forthcoming. Good quarter!
If the funding comes from "old appropriations" it is a wise move getting more bang for the buck already allocated. In theory that makes the new wall "no cost" just like the campaign promise.
Not tired of winning BUMP!
He’s doing well considering the Rats and Pubs oppose him at every turn.
If we give him good midterm results, watch him go!

IS President Trump! LOLOLOL
Excellent!!
Border towns are already benefitting....with Job, Jobs, Jobs.
Baldwin better be careful. They might send a Mexican cartel gang member to assassinate him.
Why does Mexico suck so much?

Construction on San Diego section of US border wall begins, CBP says
Someone needs to tell Ann Coulter.
That’s not so much border wall construction as border wall improvements or repair.
This is a good start...you’ll see much more money in the next budget. And don’t forget for every mile of newer walling replacing old fence that can be breached easily, funnels the illegals into more easily patrolled areas of the border.
upgrading is also significant
