Blue Wave Check: Cruz Now Up Double Digits Over Beto In Quinnipiac

The big blue wave may have already crested, according to numbers coming out of Texas today in a US Senate race that has attracted a lot of media attention. Democrat Beto ORourke has been boosted as the kind of Democrat who can compete in deep-red states like Texas in his challenge to incumbent Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. And for a while, that looked like it might be true; an early April poll from Quinnipiac had the race within the margin of error.
So what happened? Quinnipiac cites a nationwide Republican mini-move over the last few weeks, thanks in part to an improvement in Donald Trumps performance rating. He went from 43/52 in April to 47/47 now, which certainly looks as if it has lifted all boats in Texas. Cruz has also improved his job approval rating, which stands at 52/39 after an eyebrow-raising 47/45 in April. That improved standing has perhaps shown up mostly among independent voters. In early April, he trailed 37/51, but today the split among indies as 41/43, a virtual tie.
Incumbents usually need to get to 50% to feel secure in their re-election bids. The fact that its still an issue for Cruz in deep-red Texas suggests that more work needs to be done, but Republicans appear to be gaining momentum across the board. Greg Abbott is running for re-election as governor, and his lead over Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez went from 49/40 in April to 53/34. Abbott is now leading in most demos, including among women (48/40) against a female candidate.

These polls are worthless. How does do most people always always side with democraps, only to vote in republicans? I have yet to wake up in March and say “dammit, what we need is are more democraps to fix all the crap they screwed up! Most voters, but the emotionally retarded are pretty constant on who they vote for.

Partner, I knew this was going to happen. This guy Beto is a far left liberal whacko if you catch my drift. Ted Cruz will be tough to beat for any of these liberal democrats.
Partner, the Democratic Party is almost dead but not quite dead yet.

I’ve killed a lot of rattle snakes and we always buried the head. You know why.
They are demons and if we had an hosest Media, they would have died a long time ago.

Partner, you hit a homerun. We all wish they were all dead.
The Liberal Left Winged MSM is the right arm of the Rat party. It is a crying shame that the MSM continues to behave in this manner.
It has been this way since Dwight D. Eisenhower and since 1960 they have been going full bore for the Rat party.
The MSM really have become a bunch of socialists and communists as far as I am concerned and I really think a lot of Freepers understand this but the overall population is like a bunch of sheeple.

As always, you nailed it, partner.
The libs are under some kind of spell. They ain’t right in the head.

Partner, u got that right!
Partner, I have tried reasoning with these left winged liberals and it is a losing cause to argue any legitimate complaint that we as a country can solve without money since there is no common ground to argue.
I have argued and argued on many points where we can come to common ground and they will always go to a perverted government solution.
There has been only one time where I kinda agreed with a liberal individual and he said that one of the ways that we can eliminate the deficit is to freeze the budget period until the revenues catch up with the income taxes generated.
Partner, he could not even say income taxes, since it probably hurt to say this word.
This argument was like some 30 years ago.
I told him that was a good response but I also told him "Good Luck with trying to get this through with Congress." We personally had one of the greatest Congressman back then and his name was Bill Archer from Texas. He has retired already. Tip O'Neill guit at the end of 1986 since he had cancer but he was so ultra liberal.
Tip O'Neill quit when Ronald Reagan won the presidency 49 states for Reagan to 1 for Mondale and this was because Reagan stopped the counting in Minnesota since Mondale was from Minnesota and he gave the state to Mondale.
Partner, I have heard that Reagan was ahead when the counting stopped and now we can say "Ronald Reagan was a Gentleman."
Partner, I agree with the Michael Savage quote that "Liberalism is a Mental Disorder."

Yep, it’s like talking to a wall.
Yes, R Reagan was a good man and a gentleman.

I had a bizarre nightmare that Ted Cruz decided at the last minute to run for reelection in Utah and some centrist Independent televangelist beat him with 76% percent of the vote (no dem nominee) and it was an open question which party he would caucus with. We beat Beto with another candidate.

I’ve been getting text messages for Beto - I have no idea how they got my phone number but I replied telling them I had not authorized it and wanted them to stop. Anyone know how they obtain phone numbers for campaigning?
To: BeadCounter
Thats exactly why the signs say Beto instead of ORourke.
