Moon considering joining US-N.Korea summit
South Korean President Moon Jae-in is considering joining US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at their planned summit next month.
The US and North Korea are aiming to hold their first-ever summit in Singapore on June 12th.
Officials from both countries have been holding talks at the truce village of Panmunjom and in Singapore.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is due to meet the vice chairman of the Korean Workers' Party, Kim Yong Chol, in New York later this week.
NHK has established that officials from South Korea's presidential office, who work on Moon's overseas visits, have arrived in Singapore.
Presidential office sources told NHK that Moon is considering visiting Singapore but it depends on how the US-North Korea summit plays out.
Moon is eager to hold a 3-way summit with Trump and Kim as soon as possible.
In a news conference on Sunday, Moon expressed hope that a successful US-North Korea summit would lead to the declaration of the end of the Korean War through a trilateral summit.

If we don’t meet with them and NK and SK do a peace treaty, is that really what the US wants? They wouldn’t need us on the peninsula then, and could make new friends.

I agree. He is in my mind South Korea’s “Manchurian Candidate” who became president. I think he is the worst South Korean leader possible at this time. I expect he will put his own spin on what the North means, just to placate and play Trump, though what the North actually means will be something else.

Agree. I think its a good thing. If Trump can broker the end to the Korean War, reunification of the Koreas and removal of nukes (and a fair amount of U.S. troops) from Korea, thats huge.

Furthermore, he will claim that he made possible all these wonderful developments, and play it to SK media back home, in an attempt to boost his and his party’s political standing, which he hopes will greatly help his party carry the local election on Jun. 13 in S. Korea.

Worse. As the poster above said, he is a Manchurian candidate.

Moon is not needed in Singapore.
The summit is about NK's threats to nuke the US
and America's threat to obliterate them if we see them
place a nuke on an ICBM.

He should be there. South Korea has more skin in the game than we do. Any discussion should be made in partnership with them.

I expect he will put his own spin on what the North means, just to placate and play Trump, though what the North actually means will be something else. On the other hand without Moon being on board then there is nothing Trump could do to end the conflict between the Koreas. Moon is the one that made this possible.
To: DoodleDawg
Nope. Moon is a commie. His whole admistration are willing to give up South Korea for reunification under the commie rule. You have no idea how bad this thug Moon is. Dont let his moronic smile fool you.

I think Moon has a fallback plan if Trump ignores and 'mistreats' him. Moon and his lapdog media will play up the anti-American angle by casting poor S. Korean President wronged by big bad U.S. President.
The guy and his cohorts have no shame whatsoever. If they keep up, Trump will slap a pile of economic measures against S. Korea.
