My parents had to travel with proof we were theirs when going out of the country. Was this out of the country? She did not say where the flight was to.

It is not unknown for a noncustodial parent to take their child and flee.

I do have sympathy for you and those subjected to noisy, kicking passengers. A one-year old has no other way to say, hey Mom, my head feels as though it’s about to explode! And if it has even the slightest earache, the absolute worst and most painful mode of transportation for it to be stuck on.

As to the kicking, that’s something the parent and a flight attendant should be able to address. No one should have to put up with that.
