Interesting. The last time I visited S.F. was about 1970. At the time, everyone was impressed how clean the city was and there were flowers growing everywhere.
Hey, that looks like a Weber BBQ grill in the picture. Those suckers are pricey. I don’t even have one. Oh well.....
I was there a few months ago and the Marina District seemed to be largely spared of this crap.
True that. AND, at the last meeting of the areas mental healthcare orgs, my wife, who works at one, said that the estimate is that there are about 3 million of these people who have homicidal trends.
So all it takes is something to push them over the edge and they go out and kill-they want attention and will do anything to get it, no matter what kind, as long as its attention.
Here is a fact. The Giffords shooters family had called the local police several times and they did nothing but talk to him. The FL school shooter had been reported to the authorities several times and they did nothing. The LAW SAYS, that these people can be taken in for a 72 hour mental evaluation. AND THEY DID NOTHING.
When the photo came up of the Giffords shooter my wife in and instant said that he was paranoid (grand delusions) with homicidal trends. He was smiling because he got attention and in his mind he was famous and proud of it.
Step One, re-elect Nancy Pelosi.
Step Two, expect a different outcome.
We actually were there last month for an overnight visit. Guess you’d say we were mostly in the financial district but took a walk to the Ferry Bldg. and over to Little Italy. We were pretty shocked as we didn’t see the homeless in great numbers. Probably less than a handful.
That being said, when we used to stay for a week it got disgusting for all that the article stated. We had to be there for Semicon.
Now, a even funnier story. In five months homeless have invaded San Jose area. We walk on a path, Coyote Trail. It has signs posted for no camping and other laws. Well, in five months the homeless have put up tents in the bushes and built quite nice ones from the construction sites of three office buildings on the other side of the trail. It is not a trail to walk for a peaceful morning seeing the mountains and sights. You have to be on guard for homeless that appear drugged....very sad...but the state allows.
Santa Cruz is even worse.
Once vied as the prettiest city in the USA.
So sad.
Liberals ruin everything.
Death squads?
I thought the shuttering of asylums started well before Reagan.
There is absolutely nothing humane about leaving those people who are genuinely mentally ill to fend for themselves on the streets. As always, the ACLU has it completely, totally wrong.
No question, a lot of institutions were snake pits, but reforms could have been instituted.
Cholera is raciss.
Reap, sow, or some such.....
Hey, but at least they can walk around in chaps with thier schlongs hanging out, and isnt that what is really important?
The runoff in the storm sewers is polluting the San Francisco Bay and endangering the marine life
Gosh, Joe, I don't know. It's a mystery. Maybe they're all war refugees. Yeah, that's the ticket.
I don’t feel safe in SF, or Berkeley.
I have always said San Francisco was full of “S”.
Now it’s overflowing on their streets.
But for the lack of one good man...
We really need to push California out. Perhaps the sane areas of the state can secede and remain part of the US but that strip from north of Orange County to the northern border of Oakland has got to go.
People are starting to wake up to the disaster but the politicians who are driving this and benefiting from the decline are so entrenched it will be almost impossible to remove them from office
At first I thought this map was a joke.
