Yes but I think over time they will be just like Western Europe ungrateful and more Socialistic.

I understand why we initially provided security after World War II. We did not want to see Western Europe go communist. That made sense. However, we made the mistake by not requiring them to incrementally strengthen their own military and rely less and less off of our military.

We could sell our latest weapons. Which would be great for our companies. It would strengthen our Allies. Perhaps even arm them with nukes? Yes Russia would not be pleased, but Poland would not have to worry about invasion and could defend itself.

Wasn’t that one of the ‘great’ things about NATO?

One size fits all— if say WE changed the ammo, ALL had to change— so pols could ‘line’ their pockets while Arms Manufacturers etc could entice leaders and reps to change so ALL would have to.
