Former Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper says the use of human sources is "the most benign form of information gathering" amid President Trump's persistent outcry over the FBI's use of an informant during its investigation into connections between Russians and members of the Trump campaign...
...Clapper told "Face the Nation" that as DNI during the Obama administration, he would not have known about any FBI informant or their decision to use a human source.

CLAPPER'S TESTIMONY ON NSA SPYING ON AMERICANS
1) Clappers perjury when asked about NSA spying: YouTube
2) Clappers lie about that perjury: YouTube
The question was unambiguous and Clapper could not have honestly mistaken the question to be about something else:
Senator Wyden: Give me a yes or no answer to the question: Does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?THE CLAPPER DEFENSE FOR PERJURY
So now he finally admits the Obama “justice” department planted at least one spy in the Trump campaign.
informants
liar
I would have thought the most benign form of information gathering would have been to call Donald Trump up on the phone and talk to him.
Even his admissions are wrapped in more lies. The Clapper can no longer stop himself from lying.
Look at the liars trying to spin and minimize.
If the possibility of the Russians infiltrating an American Presidential campaign only required a benign information gatherer, why wasn't Trump notified?
It’s difficult to believe that the NSA wasn’t tapped to do some tapping.
Clapper needs and deserves to be taken into custody, charged with TREASON, tried and convicted and immediately taken out of his cell to be hanged by the neck, until dead, or stood up in front of a firing squad and shot.
Clapper is a TRAITOR and deserves no further considerations.
He can’t stop it “whittingly”.
If a benign human source had been placed in the Obama campaign, would the media have been as dismissive of it?
Burglarizing the Watergate Hotel was benign.
He would know about electronic surveillance (used to be called wiretapping), unmasking, leaks to the liberal press which even continued to Trump calls to foreign leaders as president.
can Clapper explain the presence of the following at the same event in Oct 2017, if it wasn’t to discuss (and decide how to counter) all the facts that were slowly being revealed about the anti-Trump activities of various orgs and inidivuals in the US and the UK?

there are videos on CNBC of the presentations at this event and Hannigan’s contribution is almost nil...and meaningless. he was obviously in attendance for other reasons.
I’m pretty sure an agent provocateur is not benign in any way.
They were prepared to stage a coup, but it was one of those benign coups, you know?
If this was so benign, if it was even legal, why was it necessary to forge Susan Rice’s signature on so many unmasking requests?
Hey, Clapper: Camp 7@Gitmo is the most economical, yet unpleasant pad for you and about 250 of yours.
They seemed to pay an awful lot of money to this benign information gatherer.
