“SpyGate”, The Inspector General, and the Expanded FISA Investigation
CONSERVATIVE TREEHOUSE ^ | 5/26/2018 | SUNDANCE

Posted on 05/27/2018 5:01:35 PM PDT by bitt

With much of the media, and indeed the President himself, fueling the ongoing headline discussion over the ramifications of the Obama administration setting up “surveillance”, “informants”, counterintelligence operations and “agent provocateurs” against their political opposition, ie. “SpyGate”, it is perhaps time for some mental sorbet.

Relating to the overall issue, on March 28th, 2018, the DOJ Office of Inspector General Michael Horowitz formerly announced an additional investigation of how the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation engaged with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) in matters relating to the FISA Title-1 application filed against U.S. person Carter Page. However, one part of the OIG notification was generously overlooked by a defensive and IC compliant media:

As part of this examination, the OIG also will review information that was known to the DOJ and the FBI at the time the applications were filed from or about an alleged FBI confidential source. Additionally, the OIG will review the DOJ’s and FBI’s relationship and communications with the alleged source as they relate to the FISC applications. (pdf link)

IG is Toothless and Impotent.

He has no reach to State, CIA, Clapper, Yates, Comey, Halper, nor 90% of the players.

It’s the Lois Lerner Strategy.

IG ran the Lois Lerner thing and the criminal referrals were ignored.

They go on denying and hiding evidence for 6 years.

Yep. That’s the road we are heading down again. But if it gets POTUS reelected in 2020 it will be worth it. The GOP has no interest in supporting him and without them covering his flanks no way he can engage the criminal Democrats.

“Good luck with that.

Note this excerpt from the article:

In essence, many of the corrupt officials within Main Justice HAVE NOT been purged.

Almost every current media leak is from inside the remaining Main Justice and DOJ-NSD officials who remain in place protecting the interests of the former corrupt officials.  All are lawyers, and all have alignment with their external allies in the Lawfare Blog Group.

Now if you have a strong stomach you can read the view from the Dark Side:

Putting the Responsibility for “Crossing the Line” Where It Belongs: The President and his White House Staff

https://lawfareblog.com/putting-responsibility-crossing-line-where-it-belongs-president-and-his-white-house-staff

After a dull gray headache from struggling thought this BS, I asked myself "Who is this guy?".

Well here is your answer:

Bob Bauer served as White House Counsel to President Obama, and returned to private practice as a partner at Perkins Coie in June 2011. In 2013, the President named Bob to be Co-Chair of the Presidential Commission on Election Administration. He is a Professor of Practice and Distinguished Scholar in Residence at New York University School of Law, as well as the Co-Director of the university's Legislative and Regulatory Process Clinic.

Conclusion: He is twisting this together to protect Obama himself from exposure of leadership in this scam.

That was the liberal POV. Now let’s hear from the conservative POV:

The “see no evil, hear no evil” defense

Much of the media has moved quickly to close the books on Attorney General Eric Holder’s role in the Fast and Furious scandal, based on this week’s report from the Justice Department’s Inspector General’s office, headed by Michael E. Horowitz.

But for many others, the 471-page report is nothing more than an effort by an employee to exonerate his boss.

Regarding the so-called “watchdog report,” GOA Executive Larry Pratt told CBN News, “The wolf has reported from the chicken coop that there’s nobody here but us chickens.” (Click here to see the interview in its entirety.)

Some Inspector Generals and special counsels in the past have shown rare courage in challenging superiors who have the capacity to destroy their careers. Sadly, Inspector General Horowitz does not appear to be one of them.

Gun Owners of America has focused, in particular, on the pathetic two-paragraph conclusion concerning Attorney General Eric Holder [on page 453] and have examined its validity — based on the extensive knowledge and participation of Gun Owners of America, as we have helped unearth this scandal.

The Inspector General (IG) exonerated Holder, not based on what the Attorney General knew or should have known … or what he constructively knew … or on what information was provided to him.

Rather, Holder was vindicated based on his ability to misstate facts so effectively there was little to nothing for the IG to “pin on him.”

***Marco Rubio has the nerve to parrot dem talking points***

Rubio utterly betrayed us in Fla. He ran as a big Tea Party guy and then, as soon as he got to Washington, refused to have anything to do with the TP Caucus in Congress. He has firmly allied with the deep state - as pointed out above - and is enriching himself as expected.

He is not the first Benedict Arnold we have elected in the Sunshine State... probably won't be the last. SUN STROKE

Huber as a US Attorney works for DAG Rosenstein.”

John Huber reports to AG Jeff Sessions.

The Boyd November letter says that Huber "will report directly to the Attorney General and the Deputy Attorney General, as appropriate..."

As I pointed out, in the DOJ org chart, the US Attorneys work directly for the DAG. That's Rod Rosenstein.

In Sessions' March letter, Sessions cites Boyd's November letter. Sessions also adds that he "gets updates" from Huber and that he will receive Huber's recommendations.

That doesn't change the fact that Huber reports "as appropriate", directly to Rosenstein.

The Sessions butt-kissers, and Sundance being the first one, will say anything, invent anything, rumor anything, to defend Sessions. Nothing they say can be considered credible.

Romanesq cannot be persuaded regardless of the facts. He is a typical Sundunce cultist. Their mind is made up and no amount of facts is going to change it. He should be lucky that FR is not CTH or he would be banned.

I used to be a big Sundance fan. Then he said, “Yes, Rosenstein is a white hat.” At that point I knew he was off the rails.

Then he said, “Yes, Rosenstein is a white hat.”

Please provide the CTH link where Sundance made that statement. I read CTH a lot and can't recall ever reading that.

Of all the players in this sordid affair, Rosenstein is the hardest to figure out. Having signed the 3rd FISA update on Carter Page would certainly qualify Rosenstein as a black hat. Also, his slow walking documents to Congress would make him a black hat.

I would be interested to read why Sundance considers Rosenstein a white hat.

First, I don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. I still believe Sundance is a solid patriot and 100% pro-MAGA.

Otoh, the idea that Rosenstein is a white hat is ludicrous. There is no benign explanation for RR to have participated in the illegal FISA warrant anti-Trump spy-athon. Its sole purpose was to help Hillary. The dirty dossier was unconfirmed [and cannot be confirmed bc it’s mostly straight up lies]. But Rosenstein presented it to the FISA judge as confirmed/rqeliable, and deliberately withheld Hillary’s major and crucial involvement with its creation. Rosenstein is as anti-Trump dirty as they get.

Here’s the cite:

‘In essence if the FBI won’t give congress the evidence it seeks, Horowitz is saying: ‘I will’.

See, Inspector General Horowitz is wearing a big White Hat here.

The records Horowitz is sharing are details his investigation has uncovered that outline the larger FBI and DOJ collusion against candidate, and possibly President, Donald Trump.

While the partially recused Attorney General Jeff Sessions watches it play out, Asst. Attorney General Rod Rosenstein works as the conduit to ensure those records are provided to congress per request. Yes, Rosenstein, like Horowitz, is also a white hat.

Their united approach with this information is essentially confirming what CTH has written about for the past several weeks. There is a clear strategy here with the information that is surfacing for us to absorb.’

The org chart ain’t the driver in #SpyGate. John Huber was hired by AG Jeff Sessions and he’s reporting in to him.

Don’t worry about it. This will become self-evident in the coming days.
The DOJ IG Report is all the buzz and could come out any day now.

Rod who?

Is there anyone not corrupt in the DOJ or FBI who are investigating Clapper and Brennan?

CIA OIG? NSA OIG?

People need to swing for these crimes.

You’re welcome. Just to add one thing. It was obvious very early in Mueller’s investigation that he was going after anything and everything. His unbridled scope raised questions within weeks. Rosenstein was specifically asked about this, since he’s ‘supposedly’ supervising Mueller.

As soon as Rosenstein answered, it was clear that Mueller was/is a premeditated hit squad. RR said we would know by Mueller’s final report whether he had reached the right outcome or not.

How chilling is that? RR basically affirmed that Mueller has unlimited scope, an unlimited budget, and an unlimited amount of time in which to try to destroy Trump. RR as much as said Mueller will receive zero supervision. (It has since been learned that some of Mueller’s hitmen have received special status, so that they *cannot* be supervised—not even by Rosenstein.)

This was a destroy-Trump mission from Day One. Sessions enabled it but Rosenstein instituted it. He is playing 100% for the other side.
