After the attack at the Santa Fe High School, Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick denounced a loss of faith and religion in society. While the news media puts the lives of these mass public killers under a microscope, collecting any information that can be gleaned about their childhoods from their family and friends and social media history, researchers have ignored the religious views of these killers.
What is most shocking is how few of these killers appear to be religious, let alone Christian. Just 16 percent have any type of religious affiliation at the time of their attacks, with a slight majority of those being Muslims.
Over just over 20 years from the beginning of January 1998 through today, there have been 69 killers committing 66 mass public shootings in the United States where at least four people have been killed. Of those attacks, just four have been identified as Christians, with just three clearly regular churchgoers. With 70 percent of Americans identifying themselves as Christians and over 33 percent going to church at least once a week, those numbers are a long way away from the 48 or 23 we would respectively expect.
These Christians included:
Mitchell Johnson, who was one of two boys who attacked their middle school in Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1998. Johnson reportedly dreamed as a child of becoming a minister.
Terry Ratzmann, a regular church attendee who shot up his church in Wisconsin in 2005. Ratzmann was a member of a most extreme of the many offshoots of the Worldwide Church of God, which is itself well outside of Christian mainstream. Among their beliefs is that mans destiny is to become God as God is God.
Dylann Roof attacked the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015. As a kid, Roof....

Ping.
The beliefs of Ratzman is not Christian, as to hold such beliefs would be a violation of the First Commandment.
Not that I am trying to state the obvious.
Almost exclusively atheists and Muslims. Atheists because they have no moral foundation, and Muslims because Islam is a death cult.
Yes, the enemedia ignores the religious aspects of mass killings
They fail to mention the atheism and the Islam
Funny about that, huh?
Atheist and Muslim
Many in the enemedia are practically atheists and Mooselimb sympathizers....the latter because of their core values of multiculturalism and “inclusivity”.
And the atheists always throw religious wars around, but they gloss over the facts about communists and eugenicists and the demographics of thse mass shooters because it casts them in a bad light.
Hypocrites, all.
They’re worse than hypocrites. Atheists will say that all wars are started by religion, that the Spanish Inquisition killed trillions of people, that Christians are Nazis, blah blah blah. All completely false. But tell them that atheist governments have killed 100-200 million people within the last 100 years (communists), and they deny it. They aren’t living in the real world. They’ll say that Christians started slavery in the U.S. even though it was Christians that actually helped free them. They choose whatever false facts they want to believe. That’s what comes from having zero devotion to the truth.
According to the article, those murkily defined as "Christian" are perps who may have attended services with their parents at some point in the past. But this is letting hack pundits define Christianity.
It would be better to let Christians define Christianity. And probably the most basic tenet of Christianity is the conscious acknowledgment of Jesus's death on the cross for the salvation of mankind.
And it might also include the acceptance of the basic confessions of Christian faith, the Apostle's creed or Nicene Creed.
All this is the common denominator of all flavors of Christianity. Further, some active participation in Christian activities such as worship on occasion at least would indicate actual Christianity.
None of the so called "Christian" shooters would fall under this very rudimentary definition of Christianity.
With a non-trivial sprinkling of satanist devil worshipers. A lot of that stuff gets suppressed in the news and reportage. Columbine, Colo. for one example, not so suppressed.
Animals
It’s time to ban teachers’ unions and start making CHRISTIAN prayers mandatory in schools again. The hell with what the Supreme Court says. Let them try to go after the 80%-90% of American parents that would support this. This is what the Second Amendment is for — to make the will of the people enforceable.
Let the Jewish kids opt out of the prayers if they want to. But the muzzies and atheists can pound sand. They should suck it up and say the prayers. They’ll sue. But so what? Liberal judges can issue their OPINIONS, but those are nothing compared with the will of a sovereign people. Scraps of paper have no power over patriots willing to stand up for what’s right!
Don’t beat me up just because I pinged John Lott.
None of them were Christians or they would not have done what they did, and to a man, they were Democrats.
If the Democrats want gun control, maybe we should give it to them.
Amend the 2nd Amendment to take away the right to gun-ownership by Democrats/Marxists/Progressives/Communists.
That should solve the problem.
And on those ADD/ADHD/PANIC/ANXIETY drugs that all carry BLACK BOX FDA SUICIDAL which can equate to HOMICIDAL warnings.
Yes, they should definitely stop drugging the kids. If I had spent my formative years in an altered state of consciousness, who knows what I’d be now.
A hard core leftist douchebag, if the 60’s is any guide.
“And on those ADD/ADHD/PANIC/ANXIETY drugs that all carry BLACK BOX FDA SUICIDAL which can equate to HOMICIDAL warnings.”

How true.
One of my sons was called “antsy,”the class clown”,or “a handful”-——but no ADHD diagnoses were around in those days,so no drugs.
He did just fine-——and I’m sure that most of these kids would also do well. It takes patience, discipline, and a sense of humor.
