The U.S. government once wanted to plan false flag attacks with Soviet aircraft to justify war with the USSR or its allies, newly declassified documents surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy show.
In a three-page memo, members of the National Security Council wrote, "There is a possibility that such aircraft could be used in a deception operation designed to confuse enemy planes in the air, to launch a surprise attack against enemy installations or in a provocation operation in which Soviet aircraft would appear to attack US or friendly installations to provide an excuse for U.S. intervention."
The memo shows that the department, along with the CIA, considered buying Soviet aircraft to stage the attacks, even getting estimates from the Air Force on how long it would take and how much it would cost to produce the planes domestically and covertly. Costs ranged from $3.5 million to $44 million per plane, depending on the model, most taking several months to build.

This is old, and seems to mention just one memo.
And it just doesnt ring true, or at least of significance.
If this was a major revelation, by now the press wouldve been all over it, telling us how bad the US is (and real good for them because that basically meant bad white males).
The Attorney General in 1962 was liberal icon Robert Kennedy, younger brother of liberal icon President John F. Kennedy.
I don't read this as the US Government "planning" to use fake Soviet aircraft. I read this as as the US Government writing a memo pointing out, gently, how stupid it was to think that it could some how magic up at a reasonable price, train ground crews, and air crews for, and deploy to a trouble spot, fake Soviet aircraft, all without any part of the operation becoming public knowledge or at least known to foreign intelligence agencies.
The memo exists not because the plan was seriously considered, but because the origin of the plan was the Commander in Chief's kid brother, and the Pentagon/CIA was not prepared to tell Bobby that he should have learned his limitations at the Bay of Pigs, and not play at being a cold war novelist.
Please take note of the date.
And Sept 11 would be massively hard to pull off.
Would go a long way to explaining Russian paranoia about the U.S.
RFK was obsessed with getting back at and rid of the Castro brothers for the humiliation of the Bay of Pigs. This would be the sort of idea that was spawned by RFK brainstorming sessions.I
I do not believe this.
Planting a false flag operation that would give the premise for a nuclear strike on the Soviet Union would entail great risks of detection. If we wanted to attack we would have simply done it and won.
In the sixties we had total and absolute nuclear superiority over the Soviets. A first strike by us would have destroyed most of their counter strike capabilities. We could have done a first strike and claimed nuclear bombers were in route to the USA to strike us. In the aftermath of a nuclear war, few would question the government as our nation would be in chaos from the limited response the Soviet Union could have mounted after a first strike by the USA.
This article is total Bull Sierra. If it is not, the Kennedy administration was insane. In fact if the Kennedy administration wanted to go to war, the Cuban Missile Crisis would have been a valid political reason to do so.
Today the Soviet Union and the United States can take a first strike and still totally destroy each other. Death will rise from the sea from our submarines as will theirs. Death will rise from our land based hardened missile silos as will theirs. Once our radars and theirs confirm warheads coming across the arctic they as we will launch. Both nations would cease to exist as a functioning society. They know this and we know this. That is the reason they nor us will start a nuclear war.
Yeah no.
Yeah no.
Yeah no.
Very funny, and accurate!
JFK didn’t know what the hell he was doing regardless of the stupid eulogies. His double-mindedness, weaknesses, and failures, like his Leftist predecessors and successors, brought us to the brink.
JFK lowered taxes and stood up to the Soviets. He’d be to the right of almost every Congressional Republican in DC today.
I should have figured you’d be a JFK lover. I’m sure you don’t have a clue how amorally and politically motivated, weak, double-minded, conflicted, and sexually addicted the guy was.
It’s always the Democrats that get us into war, the Republicans that are stuck with the mess.
He was a politically Conservative WWII combat veteran. I am not saying he was the greatest President but his policies were definitely not liberal/leftist.
conservative by what standard?
By every standard. Taxes, defense, you name it.
Number 4 is silly and wrong. Free trade is not a Conservative position and the American Revolution was fought AGAINST British Mercantilism and for protectionism. The tariff Act was the fist law signed by President Washington.
Where would JFK have been if he had lived? Just look at his brother. They were cut from the same Joseph Kennedy cloth - amoral and political opportunists.
JFK was still on his Leftist training wheels as was his brother Bobby. Bobby lived long enough to start showing what they were really made of. But Ted Kennedy, probably the single most despicable politician in our modern times, showed the world who they really were. JFK was an amoral, double-minded Leftist, not yet fully formed.
