President Trump signed three executive orders Friday containing sweeping reforms that weaken protections for federal workers and eliminate perks for the unions that represent them.
Under the new executive orders, unions will be charged rent for federal office space and will not be reimbursed for travel expenses or for hours spent appealing worker firings.
All federal workers will be ordered to spend 75 percent of their time on government work, and agencies are ordered to publicly post union contracts in an online repository.

What the hell were they doing before?

America, I am jealous. You guys are WINNING like never before.
Yes Sad for sure, we have been so used for so long.
Cut their pay by 25%.
“Let the screaming begin”. I spent nearly 30 years as a civilian employee at an Air Force Base in Georgia. The union has ruined that base. They will be screaming about this through the union paper that circulates on base.
I could explode with love for this president!
Folks, I and a few other FRiends are attempting to start a work ethic of our own. We believe that President Trump is running into too much push-back from Congress in his swamp-draining enterprise. We are looking for fellow Freepers who will make an effort to call your 2 US Senators and your US Representative about once a week to ask your reps for support in whichever swamp-draining effort you think is important that week. Items we've thought to address in the first week of our project include; building the wall, eliminating election fraud, insisting on unredacted text be delivered as per Gowdy and Nunes demand, fast-tracking approval of Federal judges and prosecuting all characters behind spygate. I'm giving Freepers credit for figuring out how to call congresscritters. Most of us have at least done it when we've been mad as swatted wasps in August. No need to complain about everything every week. We're asking for a long haul regular call. Tell 'em about 2 or 3 action items/week. (or, give 'em heck about everything every week if that's your nature) If anybody has any questions about how to call your Congress-worker feel free to PM me.

I worked for the Federal Government for 30 years and observed that a minimum of 40 percent of the employees could have been terminated without any loss of effective operations for the simple reason that the 40 percent referred to did virtually nothing but warm their chairs and collect their paychecks.
“Yes, but we need real congressional legislation to solidify this beyond a single presidency.”
Some judge refused to allow zero’s DACA EO to be discontinued at the end of his presidency. Maybe some judge will allow Trump’s swamp draining EO’s to continue beyond his presidency. (sarcasm)
I saw your post yesterday, great idea!
Maybe every time you mention this idea you could also include those links for obtaining phone numbers for Congress? I looked them up and put them in my phone yesterday, so thank you. Any efforts to make it easier for FReepers is appreciated.
All federal workers will be ordered to spend 75 percent of their time on government work..
So the other 25% is spent in the bathroom, by the water cooler, shopping online and seeing how much they can screw up in our lives?
My husband has worked for fedgov for over 30 years.
The union rep person in his department was gone on union business a good portion of the time. The rep was always in meetings (sometimes gone for up to 3 days), or was helping someone with union business and therefore unavailable to do the work in the department. It was unreal.
This would never be allowed in the private sector.
Dear Cmind,
re: “I was one of the very few non-union federal employees in my department.”
Working within the Dept of Defense, and in the 80’s, it was mandatory enrollment in the union, also known as “closed shop”. You also had to show your voter registration form.
