Wow. Mom frowned on us watching Rocky and Bullwinkle. Humor was over our heads she said.
How about you? Do YOU like it? Personally, I find it vulgar, crude, and not the type of content I want my children (or grandchildren) to be exposed to.
The biggest takeaway from this that everyone is going to miss is that kids today watch almost nothing that isn't on YouTube.
Well, my parents said the same thing about the stuff I watched.
I think it's stupid but at the same time, it's motivating my 9 y/o kid to go make his own YouTube puppet show videos.
Jeffy looks like the hip brother of the “Count” on Sesame Street!
Whereas mimicking Tinky Winky would probably be encouraged.
I listened to Cheech and Chong in Catholic school in 7th and 8th grade. Holy Heck would have happened if we got caught.
Didn’t affect me any. I don’t drink or do drugs, but I do have a terrible sense of humor
I had never heard of Jeffy until your post.
My son came in from school while I was watching an episode.
First, he was shocked that I was watching it and kept telling me to turn it off.
Then he told me that all his hockey teammates watch it and they play it in the locker room while warming up.
Pretty tame compared to some of the lyrics of music played at opponent schools basketball and football games.
Oh yeah. Cheech and Chong were huge when I was in high school. There was a skit they did on one of their albums I think called “Alice Bowie”. Obviously a take off on the radical artists David Bowie and Alice Cooper. The music for that skit was great.
And kids love stuff like captain underpants as well.
And that is disgusting, too.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.

What are the odds their “sex ed” classes are a lot worse?

LOL! Kids can get uncomfortable when their parents discover their little worlds they didn't think we knew anything about.
yeah. That one almost got all of us. We listened to that one in class at a group tape station . We would listen to a tape, then fill out a worksheet. Cheech and Chong were better than actual learning.
And people ponder why school shootings occur—thank the media and video games.
