“And I howled at the morning driving rain”
I always thought he was saying “at the moaning, driving rain”
“howled at the moon and driving rain” would at least make a little sense
The source which I posted was from Google Lyrics.
From A-Z Lyrics:
The Rolling Stones Lyrics
“Jumping Jack Flash”
I was born in a crossfire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain
But it’s all right now, in fact it’s a gas
But it’s all right
I’m Jumpin’ Jack Flash, it’s a gas, gas, gas
From Genius Lyrics:
(Instrumental Intro)
One two!
I was born in a crossfire hurricane
And I howled at the maw in the drivin’ rain
But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas
But it’s all right, I’m Jumpin’ Jack Flash
It’s a gas, gas, gas
From Lyrics Freak:
I was born in a cross-fire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the driving rain,
But it’s all right now, in fact, it’s a gas!
But it’s all right. I’m jumpin jack flash,
Its a gas! Gas! Gas!
From Metro Lyrics:
One, two!
I was born in a crossfire hurricane
And I howled at my ma in the drivin’ rain
But it’s all right now, in fact it’s a gas
But it’s all right, I’m jumpin’ jack flash
It’s a gas, gas, gas
As you can see, there is no consensus. Perhaps We should ask Mick...................
