Timing – Chairman Goodlatte and Chairman Gowdy Schedule Testimony From Bill Priestap…
CONSERVATIVE TREEHOUSE ^ | 5/24/2018 | SUNDANCE

There is a particular coordination of events that has been visible since December 2017 when the first evidence of the FBI and DOJ operations against the Trump campaign surfaced. In the past six months a great deal of granular timing relates to this coordination. In January 2017 the DOJ IG began investigating FBI and DOJ conduct during the Clinton investigation in 2015 and 2016.

Toward the end of 2017 a joint House Judiciary Committee and House Oversight Committee venture was established to look into the FBI/DOJ handling of the Clinton investigation, and the Trump counterintelligence investigation. Judiciary Chairman Goodlatte and Oversight Chairman Gowdy established the joint-oversight venture and then little happened as they awaited the completion of the OIG internal review.

Between the Fall of 2017 and May 2018 the final stages of the DOJ-OIG investigative inquires took place. In this period DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz was joined with federal prosecutor John Huber. Horowitz focused on the ongoing internal investigation, while Huber received evidence carved out that holds value for criminal prosecutions.

During the period of January through May 2018 all congressional witness testimony from the FBI and DOJ participants to oversight committees was filtered through the need for U.S. Attorney John Huber to retain the integrity of criminal evidence. Toward that end, testimony from multiple witnesses, sought by congress upon members of the DOJ and FBI, was cancelled. Some of that testimony was cancelled at the last minute as the DOJ negotiated with congress and likely explained the reasoning therein. Example:

"would it surprise anyone... if what actually happens is exactly nothing?"

Sadly, no.

We are all used to the corruption of the justice system by the Clintons and the Dems, as well as cowardly Republicans afraid to rock the boat, or getting a cut of the graft.

But I am encouraged by what I see. If honor and integrity were restored to the DoJ, I believe that it would play out like this - careful investigations done without publicity.

I also don't believe that the political impact of these scandalous crimes could possibly have been missed, or the importance of these midterm elections. That is why I would anticipate that the public rollout would naturally be laid out in a media campaign, during the election season - which happens to kick off around now, after the primaries, and into the general.

Everything is showing up right on cue (IG Report, witnesses, document releases) for a string of blockbuster Congressional hearings, every week in June.

I anticipate criminal charges, so that when we get into the height of the campaign (Sep/Oct), the really big developments can hit. I don't know what they will be, but a competent strategist would save some big ones for then.

I think it is very necessary to preserve the rule of law, and our constitutional liberties from being surreptitiously undermined, that the abusers of office from the Obama Administration be punished - or we might never have the chance again. So I don't mind at all a bit of strategic timing.

It really looks to me that they know the big picture in the White House, the AG's office, and the Oversight Committees; and that they have the goods on the wrongdoers - and they have the balls to follow through.

That is probably the key question that you are getting at - do they have the backbone to prosecute and convict? If I am right, I anticipate that this scandal should move into open criminal investigation or charges in June, and snowball from there.

It is possible that Sessions has been compromised (perhaps blackmailed with info from illegal spying).

But it is also possible that he has been playing possum, waiting for a strategic election season sweep.

Papadopoulos had contact with Sessions. My cynical mind has been thinking that Mueller has been holding the sentencing of Papadopoulos in abeyance as a hammer over Sessions.

No concept is too cynical to be possible, when dealing with the Washington Swamp.

Yeah, in Utah. The headquarters of the DOJ, FBI, CIA and NSA are not in Utah.

Huber is a Federal US Attorney. He is not bound by state lines regarding Federal crimes. He isn't the sherriff of Podunk County. He is a US Attorney granted specific and broad powers by the Attorney General of the United States. Huber has been working hand in glove with Horowitz (the DOG IG) since last November.

Moreover, the letter appointing Huber specifically charges him with three responsibilities, none of which include investigating or prosecuting anyone. He was appointed to REVIew several investigations to determine if adequate resources were used and to make recommendations regarding the appointment of a special counsel.

Only mark bradman aka sundance has interpreted the Q beam to assume that Huber has been assigned as an US Atty to prosecute the obama clinton scandals. Unfortunately those gullible enough to believe the unbelievable CTH will be mightily disappointed when all comes to naught.
But dont worry, bradman NEVER comments about the numerous narratives and predictions that never seem to come pass. They just quietly slip away into the ether as if they had never existed. Except for those of us that remember.

Wrong. Why dont you actually read the letter that instructs Huber what his orders are. They dont include investigating or prosecuting anyone.

Sorry, Friend. You have been reading too much Conservative Nuthouse. Read Post # 20. That specifies exactly what Hubers assignment is. Please notice it does NOT include investigating or Prosecuting anyone. This BS about Huber prosecuting people has been concoted solely by mark bradman and no one else. There is not one DOJ comment, press release, interview or any type of statement suggesting that Huber is doing anything more than the internal review that he was assigned to undertake.

The danger of listening to the idiot bradman is that you will end of being wrong as often as he is.

This is educational for the general public and shows just how corrupt this government is. Unless it is made aware of this and cares the nation is doomed. These idiots have overturned a wasp nest and there is no where to run.

“Why dont you actually read the letter that instructs Huber what his orders are. They dont include investigating or prosecuting anyone.”

Nor does it EXCLUDE investigating or prosecuting. It is unwise, and unprofessional - counterproductive in fact - to announce an ongoing investigation.

AG Sessions avoided saying directly whether or not there was an investigation (or several) underway - but he came as close as possible to doing so. He assured his long time Senate Judiciary Committee colleague Chuck Grassley, that the people and processes were in place, to handle investigation/prosecution, without appointing a Special Prosecutor - that regular prosecutors could handle it (and were).

As Sessions says in the letter “as you know, the Department of Justice cannot provide continuous updates on ongoing investigations, or confirm or deny the existence thereof”

He then states the IG is working on the matters referred by Grassley, and also the FISA applications.

He cites the law, which allows the IG to refer evidence of criminal activity to a US Attoney (DoJ regulations require it, in a timely manner, specifically precluding waiting until a final report). Sessions goes on to say that the US Attorney can then convene a Grand Jury or take other appropriate action.

Sessions states that he has already directed senior federal prosecutors (note the plural) to evaluate the issues raised by the committee. Specifically, he appointed Huber to lead that effort. The additional matters Grassley requested to be investigated were already “within the scope of his existing mandate”.

Bottom Line: Sessions assured Grassley that ALL the issues he raised (and more) had been assigned to well qualified and well resourced investigative and prosecutorial professionals. Essentially, he confirmed a whole task force of prosecutors, led by Huber.

Sure, Huber could recommend new investigations, or a Special Prosecutor, but he is duty bound to investigate evidence of criminal activity (and there are mountains of it) - he has explicitly been given a specific non-geographic mandate. The IG would be professionally liable if he had not referred newly uncovered evidence in a timely manner, as it was discovered.

When the IG issues his report, Huber and his team will be responsible for having investigated and having prepared to prosecute those criminal activities contained within.

Soon.

Here is the letter, try to pick out the pertinent facts (resources assigned, all allegations being handled), and don’t get distracted by ancillary additional review or recommendations. Multiple prosecutors have been assigned - and have been working for some time already.

“the letter appointing Huber specifically charges him with three responsibilities, none of which include investigating or prosecuting anyone.”

The letter appointing Huber is not public.

The letter to Senator Grassley that first mentioned Huber’s name, is the response to Senator Grassley’s request for a Special Prosecutor.

Sessions’ response was essentially that a Special Prosecutor was not needed - they already had multiple prosecutors working, led by Huber (who has a previous record of leading a successful task force).

“do not end up destroying Sessions’ legacy and reputation after such a long and accomplished career in public office.”

That’s funny. Can you name a single Bill that Sessions sponsored which became law?

At your request I have re read the AGs letter. I note that in two places, including his concluding paragraph (third from the end) Sessions specifically repeats that Mr Huber has 3 charges. They do not include anything beyond “ making recommendations to the Attorney General”. This language would NOT have been used if in fact Sessions intended that Huber have normal US Attorney discretion ( which does not require AG approval to conduct investigations and file charges.)

I understand your feeling that, taken as a whole, the letter seems to suggest thar Grassleys concerns are being addressed. In one sense they are because they are being examined by the Dept IG who has the ability to refer alleged crimes to the appropriate US Atty. But, and it is a big But, what sessions has done is not the same as either appointing A Special Counsel or referring to a US Atty with instructions to investigate and take whatever action is appropriate. Instead he has ordered an INTERNAL DOJ REVIEW, the purpose of which is different than a crimnal investigation.

Having mr huber work with the IG is not the same as him being assigned to file criminal charges.

“High/Low” can be a dirty and dangerous football takedown of a defensive tackle or guard. I’ve got the scar to prove it. Two SOBs double-teamed me during a touch football game at college. The smaller guy hit me below the knees so that I would crumble while the bigger guy smashed me in the mouth with his elbow.

Normally a good High/Low only takes the target out of the play by dropping them and if done safely, no one gets hurt.

I love RICO charges. Worked on an Organized Crime Task Force with the RICO statutes being used for an “assets seizure” project. Due to Bill Clinton and Hillary taking money from the Mob (Gambinos, Gotti, etc), AG Janet Reno quashed the 200+ indictments and appointed a somewhat hack attorney to be the union’s overseer in their “mob cleanup”.

The whole sickening story is found in the April 1977 issue of “The American Spectator”, Byron York, “Let’s Be Friends: A Mob-Controlled Union Delivers the Goods for Bill”. About the LIUNA, Laborers International Union of North America and their money to the Clintons and the Democrats in mid-1990s.

York’s great work summed up what happened to the investigation I was detached to, with incredible details on the Mob-Clinton money connections. This article filled in the bigger picture of what I was doing as we were a segmented operation. Reno betrayed us and several undercover operatives (who are mentioned in films about Gotti and the Mob in crime documentary shows on TV).

Another case of the Democrats betraying law enforcement by using a corrupt AG (Reno) to protect the Clintons and the Dems from prosecution and jail.
