My favs are Walter Williams and Mark Steyn.
Todd Herman subs today and tomorrow.
Best of Rush show Memorial Day\Monday.
Rush has become radio’s Johnny Carson.
Show up occasionally when more important things, like playing golf, aren’t occupying his mind.
Now now. Mark Davis is my other favorite.
I thought this holiday would NEVER arrive.

I liked Ken Matthews when he subbed a week or so ago. I can’t listen to Mark Steyn anymore - his smarmy personality got tired years ago. Everyone else Rush has on just sounds like a pumped up amateur trying to disguise they’re not really very bright.
I’ll give it a shot today. As long as he doesn’t do 15 minute infomercials for those stupid sheets or Legacy Box maybe it’ll be okay. :-).
Things are at a snail’s pace today.
Steyn is the main reason I listen to Limbaugh’s show.
I loved when Dr. Williams would guest host.
Ugh. I tried. I can’t stand this guy. Same generic personality and voice as every other lousy stand-in.

Hey Noob (;-) - I think Rush is in his 30th year? A racquetball buddy (a plumber) turned me on to Rush ~ 1990. Since then I pretty much have listened to Maha Rushie since then 12-3 on a Sony hip radio with a mono earbud since.
Ist - You're a stick-to-the-issues fan whether you know it or not.
2nd - He saved AM radio, made conservative radio, arguably made the market for Fox news, is on air on many holidays when many are not, is always informative, funny, insightful, etc.
3rd - While guest hosts for a while were all strangely named Mark (;-), I love Mark Steyn and enjoy him every time he hosts the show. If Rush retires I nominate Steyn to replace him even though he's not a natural born citizen - that just means he can't be president. Luckily, Rush could be if we really needed him. Right now President Trump is doing fine.
4th - Most times he's not on air/dittocam he's doing a charity event for a good cause. Maybe cut him a little slack?
5th - Some radio hosts just leave for a month during holiday periods - including large blocks during Christmas and summer - for my part I want him to take a break occasionally.
6th - I like golf and football and his knowledge of both sports is encyclopedic. The few times he strays off politics is, for me, always enlightening and really not a problem.
7th - Just waiting for my wife to get back from a 3 week visit with family (her Mom, our daughter, granddaughter other in-laws and friends) in NC - an 11 hour drive, so I've got a little free time ... its been brutal but I've survived.
Actually, just so you know, when she's on vacation so am I. A good time is had by all.
8th - You need more? I've got more. Have a nice day.

A. I’m hardly a Noob. I’ve been here since 2001 and have listened to Rush since the early 1990’s as well. Hell, I even got through to him once when my daughter was in grammar school (and she’s a University Professor now!). That’s not a value judgement, by the way, since I believe people new to Free Republic can offer just as much as people who have been here awhile - just setting the facts straight.
B. Since you’ve been listening for decades as well, surely you remember that guy who couldn’t be DRAGGED away from his job, and used to boast that he came in on holidays when other radio hosts didn’t.
Now, I did take a few years off from Rush, from the day Obama won his second term to the point where the Republican primaries began for the 2016 election. In fact, I took a few years off from ALL media.
These days, I barely recognize the guy I’m listening to. It’s mostly just schtick. He tends to make a point, then repeat it a dozen more times before moving on to some stupid ad for sheets or some other scammy garbage that’s obviously paying him big bucks. He boasts that he doesn’t watch TV, so is unprepared for his job. It’s clear that he’d much rather be at home, playing with his iPhone - but his ego won’t let him, because nothing pleases Rush more than hearing his own name pop up on TV somewhere - which he will spend a half hour talking about each and every time it happens. Seriously, the “one hand tied behind my back” stuff was a cute self-effacing joke a decade or two ago - now it seems that he really HAS become the narcissist he once joked about being.
Which doesn’t mean I don’t listen to him - Obviously, I do. And I do prefer him to the guest hosts (most of the time).

While I lurked from when X42 announced for the presidency I only registered during the 2000 Bush-Gore fight to be able to post. Calling you a Noob was just a little humor because I got in a little earlier but jeez that’s a long time ago.
I will not engage in a flame war - I just think Rush is still a national treasure - if you really worry about repeated points ad infinitum check out Hannity but he, despite regularly going down a list of outrages, serves the conservative agenda perhaps one new viewer at a time.
For my part, with an earbud from 12-3, and a subscriber, I enjoy the top of the hour setup but usually doing something else also so I don’t listen that critically.
If nothing else he was never a Never-Trumper but I do believe he could highlight the Uniparty (Pubs, Dims & Lobbyists in WDC) and the Deep State effects/dangers to our Republic but he is on air most days, he is entertaining, insightful and that makes him solid gold for America.

And I know what you mean about Hannity. “Spygate” is an important and complex story, to be sure, but if I have to hear Hannity go through it all AGAIN I’m going to nod off. :-)
I enjoyed Herman today; no one is Rush and Steyn is the best but I appreciate other voices, too. I’d take any of Rush’s guest hosts over Beck any day ;)
Speaking of years .... I started lurking here in the mid-90’s, signed up in 2000, maybe, and have had a few name changes. I think it’s time for another one. Does anyone even know who Captain Phil is anymore?
Did anyone hear the call from the young man yesterday who was in jail and lost TV privileges so he started listening to AM radio, found Rush and was saved? It actually brought tears to my eyes.
Reminded me of how I found Rush. Around 1990 I was a single mom, working 3 jobs, having a brain tumor broke ass poor! I was gifted a Hooptie to get around, an Aries K Car. It only had AM radio, and WABC NY was about all that came in.
The first couple of days I would holler back at Rush and be so mad, but then .... you know ..... the light dawned on the 25 year old libertarian and it’s not gone off since.
Thank God for hard times, thank God for removing the scales from my eyes. Thank God for Rush.
