This is actually the best scenario for Flynn. He doesn't just want the charges dropped. He wants them thrown out in a way that he has legal grounds to sue the DOJ/FBI for a boatload of money.

I do believe (course, beyond 2018 or 2019) that Flynn will be handed a ‘gift’ in that no charges are pushed, and criminal behavior by the FBI will be substantiated. He’ll sue, and somewhere beyond 2021...he’ll recover all of his money back.

I’m not sure if McCabe, Strozok or Comey will ever get jail-time but they’ve basically burned every single bridge of trust that existed. I wouldn’t even hire them to sell life insurance.
