"Persons infected with HIV were now referred to as 'people living with HIV (PLHIV),' highlighting that HIV is not only a survivable disease but also one where normal life is possible."

That's quite a misleading statement. The "normal" life of people infected with HIV is hounded with increased medication resistance, debilitating side effects, more rapid aging, and more compromised bodies. If you dig in just a little bit on the details, you'll find that living with HIV controlled with medication is still far from a picnic. And near perfect adherence is essential.

Where’s a good link on the problems people with HIV have? I once read people with HIV die 14 years early, plus have lots of neurological disorders (HAND). Can no longer find that info online.
