Where’s a good link on the problems people with HIV have? I once read people with HIV die 14 years early, plus have lots of neurological disorders (HAND). Can no longer find that info online.

HIV is above all else a "political disease," and as such, the facts and implications around it are distorted, if not hidden completely. So, it's not surprising that not much useful information can be found on it.

Ironically, some of the most honest information can be found at radical leftist HIV group sites, since the useful truth impinges on them most severely. One such site is poz.com. They'll even admit that the virus can remain dormant in the brain for many years, emerging to cause unpredictable damage as the individual ages. HIV-induced dementia is also a very real possibility, even with those who have their viral load "under control."

But the current political narrative is that "positive" (infected) individuals "can live just as long and healthy lives as any other folks, with a minimum commitment to take a pill a day." That's just too simplistic to be believable.
