A former CIA officer who was imprisoned for leaking classified information to journalists said he was initially was cleared of charges until Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan got involved.
John Kiriakou said he had "no idea" he was under investigation in 2007 for sharing details of terrorists' interrogations to journalists.
Kiriakou said his story should be relevant to President Donald Trump, who is dealing with the same officials in his Russia probe as Kiriakou did.
"In 2007, the Bush administration investigated me and determined I hadn't committed a crime," he said.
However, Kiriakou said that once President Obama took power in 2009, a series of memos showed that Brennan asked Attorney General Eric Holder to reopen his case.

On December 10, 2007, Kiriakou gave an interview to ABC News[14] in which he described his participation in the capture of Abu Zubaydah, who was accused of having been an aide to Osama bin Laden. Kiriakou said he did not witness his waterboarding, but he had been told by CIA associates, it had taken only a single brief instance of waterboarding to extract answers.
I watched this piece last night, interesting to me that this has remained a nonstory for so long. This points out that the power brokers in Washington are usually not the elected representatives of the people, but rather people like Brennen and Mueller who gain and keep power through intimidation, abuse of justice, and carefully selecting victims who can serve as examples for the rest of the bureaucracy. The message is clear: get in my way, or fail to support my schemes, and I will put you federal prison. This is how the Deep State operates these days.
What if someone falsely targeted by the Deep State simply proceeded without legal council?

I hope this guy gets the last laugh and sees Brennan, obummer, Holder, Lynch, ValJar, and the rest of the conspirators to commit crimes during and after the obambam terms in prison while he gets pardoned.

Waterboarding is not used to ‘extract answers’. The prisoner can stop it instantly merely with an *agreement* to talk to an agent who has already been working with him for weeks or months to cultivate a relationship.
