On a realistic note, I’m amazed at the herd mentality and very grateful that I have the personal mental strength and the various role models who demonstrated that independent/critical thinking are the key.

Today’s youth are not so self assured and many have claimed to be gay or ‘transgender’ (mocking quotes intentional) merely out of desperation to belong. Combine this with cheap vacuous praise for ‘coming out’ and you have a recipe for many insecure, misguided young people seeking that fleeting moment of approbation. Drunk on their newfound and often fatuous sexual identity, they find the hangover lasts years or even a lifetime.

Even if we accept that gays are ‘born that way’ then, as one astute observer noted, their numbers should remain steady at best and more likely decrease since they cannot produce offspring (as a couple at least). Most gays are secular and most secularists believe in evolution. However, they seem unable or unwilling to apply the ‘laws’ of natural selection to homosexuality which, by their own scientific standard, has to be regarded as a hindrance to passing on their DNA at best and a dead-end mutation at worst. In other words, they’re hypocrites.

‘Transgenderism,’ on the other hand, is completely untethered from science. It’s the Pet Rock of the 21st Century - a fad drawing in the most desperate and gullible. There have been gay people throughout history. There is androgyny in many cultures. But ‘transitioning’ and demanding the world reverse its axis to suit certain individuals is reductio ad absurdum of social media. These are people threatened by the notion they may be boring, average, plain, etc. What better way to draw attention than to shock the world’s sensibilities and to demand their homes, offices, etc. be retrofitted and that language, pronouns, and even thoughts be controlled and/or modified? It is a cowardly narcissist’s dream scenario - now being indulged by parents, schools, even the courts.

In any case, pollsters have had their day. Their methods, their samples, their ‘weighting’ and their biases are evident to all and their days of easy money and PR based on the Appeal To Majority Fallacy are largely over.
