True, Franklin was involved with the first abolitionist society. Before that, he owned slaves for about 40 years, freeing them sometime in the 1780s. Of course, Franklin wasn’t a big slave owner, but did own several household servants. But maybe we should keep quiet about that or he’ll disappear into the memory hole.
It is alleged Ben also detested Jews and tried to have them banned from the USA.
