UPDATE: After the meeting, the White House said the Justice Department Inspector General has officially been asked to expand his probe into the FBIs counterintelligence operation against Donald Trumps presidential campaign.
A statement reads: Based on the meeting with the President, the Department of Justice has asked the Inspector General to expand its current investigation to include any irregularities with the Federal Bureau of Investigations or the Department of Justices tactics concerning the Trump Campaign. It was also agreed that White House Chief of Staff Kelly will immediately set up a meeting with the FBI, DOJ, and DNI together with Congressional Leaders to review highly classified and other information they have requested.

IG report = slow roll
.
Rosenstein runs every single decision by Mueller, even non-Russia related strategy.
Sessions is AWOL.
This is per DeSantis and what witnesses have told them. He was in the Radio in DC today.
This is why the DOJ advised the NY US Atty to recuse, when no such advice was ever given during the 8 yrs of the Obama Administration.
Rosenstein = saboteur
Let the whining, criticism and back-stabbing begin.
Good! Horowitz will get to the bottom of this.
Kelly will set up meeting between FBI, congressional leaders to review requested information: White House
Useless. The IG can’t even talk to anyone no longer in govt. No grand jury’s, no subpoenas. Totally useless bovine exrement!
To review with, but not deliver to, Congress? Seems everyone in DC except Nunes, and possibly Gowdy, has completely forgotten about that quaint thing we used to call congressional oversight!
I think it depends. Rosenstein wanted to assign it to a DOJ IG, in which case a new startup investigation would be a two year slow-roll. Expanding Horowitz' authority, when he's got several hundred people who already know much of the ground to be explored, might be a good thing.
Devil, details.
With Mufti Brennan’s involvement and setup of the whole thing, where is the CIA on this? DoJ-yes, FBI-yes, but what about the CIA’s involvement?
Rosenstein desperately needs to be fired. It will happen, but when? I think it needs to come from the recent tweet recipients—Mitch and Paul. Same with calls for a new SC. Same guys need to get so much pressure they get on board.
cia has their own inspector general..

who oversees the clowns? the ringmaster?
Internally, the CIA Office of Inspector General performs independent audits, inspections, investigations, and reviews of CIA programs and operations, and seeks to detect and deter fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement. External to the CIA, both the Congress and the executive branch oversee the CIAs activities. In addition, the CIA is responsible to the American people through their elected representatives, and, like other government agencies, acts in accordance with U.S. laws and executive orders. In the Executive Branch, the National Security Councilincluding the president, the vice president, the secretary of state, and the secretary of defenseprovides guidance and direction for national foreign intelligence and counterintelligence activities. In Congress, the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, as well as other committees, closely monitor the Agencys reporting and programs. The CIA is not a policy-making organization; it advises the Director of National Intelligence on matters of foreign intelligence, and it conducts covert actions at the direction of the President.
And you’re just talking about “our side”, right?
People, including many FReepers, are going to look like such fools...
He can’t talk to them or show them what he has as evidence....but that’s not the end of it.
Not to discuss reviewing it? To review it? If the latter... Wow.
Let's hope the White House pushes a bit harder than just adding to the IG "to do" list. With DNI Coates and CoS Kelly, it will be a little harder to play the redaction game.
